hair cut

So I went to Hair Cuttery today to get a trim and I don't usually go to this place (only walk in, no appts, mostly decent cheap haircuts) since i don't get haircuts very often. When I do go, I usually get it colored so I stick to a really good salon by my old house where the chances of them messing it up and ripping me off are minimal although it does cost some major $$$. Not worth it for just a trim. Anyway, I walk in and sit down in the waiting area and I see 4 chicks cutting hair. 1 is working on an old blind guy, the next is working on a 6 year old fraternal twin (his brother was telling the stylist to not shave his brother's head bald, please), the third is working on a black woman's hair, and the fourth was working on this dude in overalls and workboots, and he had a pretty bitchin farmer's tan. The fourth lady had really big hair with poofy bangs. I imagine about 1/2 can of Aqua Net is needed to maintain that look. I don't think she got the memo about the 80s being over. So I'm sitting here waiting and praying I don't get this lady. For some reason, I expect the person giving me a haircut to have really nice hair too. Plus, she was giving this dude a haircut and touching up his rat tail. I have often wondered how people with mullets and rattails get hair service. Like where to most birds go to die? but today I saw it actually happen. There are many mullets and rattails in this town and I think this woman may be responsible for many of them. I heard the guy say, "keep the tail, but trim everything else." And the lady with the 80s hair was totally feeling it as she nodded and talked about her husband's hair which I'm assuming is similar to this guys. Although she handled the rattail rather gingerly, I did not want her touching my hair, despite the fact that all I needed was half an inch off the bottom. The two people who were waiting in front of me were called to chairs by other stylists, and the 80s stylist was finishing up on rattail dude. I started to sweat a little because my turn was next and she was wrapping up her masterpiece. I thought "maybe I should just leave" for a moment and was ready to do so and then suddenly this young hip looking girl with really nice highlights and a very trendy bob came out of the backroom and called my name. She wasn't wearing the Hair Cuttery smock all the other ladies were wearing, but she was wearing a nice dress suit that she might have bought from The Limited. I breathed a sigh of relief. I don't know if she was the master stylist or what but I definitely felt calmer. Anyway, the haircut went without a hitch.
