DRUNKEN POST #2: General Drunken Blathering

hmmm so Valentines Day sucks. Yep... its true. Saint Valentine can suck it. And I can't even get drunk anymore. I had more liquor than a goddamn boatload of frat boys tonight, and I'm not even drunk. In fact, I've been up for about two hours since I got home from closing down the damn bar. SOMEBODY GET ME DRUNK!!!!

Hehe... also, I left a bar during Daughter (I was pissed about that) and I came back later and played RvM and Porch, but the bar closed before they played... WTF? No PJ all night! DAMMIT!

OK I'm going to bed, but I'll leave you with this discussion: Why can't 90% of bartenders make a proper Alabama Slammer? I got one in a candy ass glass with a damn cherry in it... WTF? Damn candy ass Alabama Slammer. Doesn't it piss you off when your favorite drink is FUBARed? Sheesh.

I used to have a flatmate in London whose name is Phil. Phil Stocks....Dr Phil Stocks as the case may be.

Phil is currently a professor at Rutgers University in New Jersey. He teaches Computer Science to Masters Candidates.

Between his PhD's he took 18 months off and started tending bar. He had just gotten divorced and he was looking for a change. I think that the bartending helped him get some perspective. He talked to people and had some fun and saw some of the real world that he had not seen before. His trip tp london was part of that. I am sort of greatful that he allowed me to aid in the process of his healing.

What's the point of all of this?.....Well.......Phil (my Phil....not you, mate), could make a GREAT Alabama Slammer. He specialised in coctails and was good at all that throwing the bottles into the air stuff. People used to come to the bar he tended at in the Village just to get the Alabama Slammers.

And here is the point......Phil had a PhD in Mathematical programming and is one of the smartest guys I know.....you are never going to be able to expect most bartenders to be able to do it properly!!
