Valentine's Day

hello everyone! first post of mine here (I'm Yfke/Stoneyboneybabe) and I wanna take some kind of poll. My question: What do you guys think of Valentine's day> Depressing day or joyfull day? Invented by Hallmark to make money on people, or created for lovers all around the globe who want to let eachother know they care (yeah like they can't do that any other day.. woops that was MY opinion right there :)) ? do you sit around the house with a bowl of popcorn or...?

well you get the idea. I'm curious! tell me.

i treat it just like any other day. if you love someone you shouldn't just do something special on one day, you should do it all the time.

i just ignore it. i don't like it much. but saying that, my best friend and i have sent eachother a card every year just to make sure we both get one!

i never buy anything though..i make everything. i don't like buying cards/gifts for all these days that i'm sure were created to take money from us.

I think it can be depressing, and generally I would say that it is a totally comercialised, pointless day hyped up by the card people. However I'm looking forward to it this year because my husband and I are both so busy (I work 3 jobs, he does 2) that it's felt lately like we hardly see each other. So on Wednesday I'm looking forward to some quality time with the man I love. Cheesy I know, but it's true!!!

I believe it's a day we've been forced to accept and yes it's a money maker for all things bad. It's my sweetie's Birthday as well so I have no choice but to make it special.

my 9 year old wrote out hers yesterday(a mixture of brittney spears and nsync cards) and she filled out the biiiiig "special" brittney card to her best girl friend and then she filled out the biiiiiig "special" nsync card to some boy who goes by the name of nicky...he got a few hearts around his name too....../images/smile.gif it was so cute to see her express herself with absolutely no fear...although inside MY head im thinking...that little punk had better give her a biiiiiig card, too...../images/tongue.gif

i also love those little candy hearts with the sayings on them....ive been feeding them to mrgroovN all week /images/wink.gif "hot stuff" "B mine"
