Been quite awhile since I have posted here so I thought I would give a quick run down of my last few months. (minus work)

I was lucky enough to get to see 7 Pearl Jam shows on the 2nd leg of the US tour. (Vegas, KC, Omaha, Fargo, St. Paul, Chicago and East Troy) Here is a little break down.

***Vegas.... the 10 club lines were insane but this show got me really excited to see the rest of the tour. First time in 6 shows that I have heard Present Tense. It was incredible. And to get to see the ladies of Heart helping out on RITFW was great. Best version of Porch here too....

***KC... this was the beginning of our little mini tour with my good friends Mike, Sara and Jeremy. We had all been waiting for this moment since we last got on a plane out to Seattle for the first night of the warm up shows in December. It was a nice day right up until the beginning of the show..then the rain started. I mean RAIN! We got soaked and saw one of the best PJ shows of the trip. The absolute best rendition of Release I have heard.

***Omaha/CB .. My hometown.... nothing like being able to get "prepared" at home and then drive to see Pearl Jam 10 minutes away. This was the first time they had been in the area since 1991 and they were very well received. The Omaha World Herald would later say that it was the best concert in the area in the last 5 years. (not really saying much considering Cher was there 2 weeks ago) It was a great show and the local crowd made me proud. It was my first time to hear Arc and I damn near cried during it.... very moving rendition. Great acoustics in the new Mac Dome too...

***Fargo... This is where the fun really starts. My buddy Jeremy has decided to drive us because he has some business to take care of in St. Paul. He tells me he needs to bring a trailer with him on the trip and I figure...no big deal. He pulls up to pick me up on Sunday morning and I am dumbfounded.. The damn trailer is damn near 20 ft long on the back of a dually truck!!! So, if you saw a big white rig while on the road anywhere from FArgo to Chicago...that was us! On a side note it was nice to have because we parked our big rig right where the PJ Bus had just left at The Radisson there in Fargo. (rock star parking) Holy uncomfortable jerking! Anyway, we get to Fargo and see a great show. The unveiling of In My Tree and my favorite version of 1/2 Full. Damn I love that song!

***St. Paul... Okay, so we are staying in Downtown St. Paul and with a 20ft trailer it really is tough.. We drive around for an hour looking for a spot... We call security at The Radisson...again! Rock Star parking! What a tight show! I can't decide if East Troy of this one is my favorite. Lukin with Michael from the front row in Fargo was great! Guy was having a blast! Matt's drum solo for Immortality.... Leaving Here... RVM!! I love this show! And me and Sara (Mikes girlfriend) have a great dance session in the aisle during Thin Air.

***Chicago... Great show... got rained on just after we got our tickets in the 10club line. Sat right next to Kille.... she's a very nice lady. Green Disease.... wow! "believe me just asking you to sway...(just a little, just a little). Crowd was incredible.... Great show...

***East Troy... The finale... It couldn't have been a better place to end our week long trip. We had so much fun up to that point that I really didn't think it could be topped. Well, a day long tail gate of Brats, Burgers and Beer proved me wrong. What a great day! I have a picture of all of us around the hibachi that is framed at my desk and whenever I feel any resemblence of down.. I just look at that and go back to that day. Faithful...I Believe in Miracles, etc. This show was tight and the crowd of I would guess over 30k was great! The show ended, we all had our moments of tears and hugs...and we made our way back to the car.

I really just want to say that it was the most fun I have ever had and every since that last note was played my life has been different. I miss those days like crazy but I gained a lot of perspective on those 2144 miles. Thanks to Mike, Jeremy and Sara for being there with me to enjoy such good times. I look forward to the next time we can get out there.

I know it was long but I have been waiting to finally post this for quite some time and what better day than a Friday. :)

Thanks for reading.

Josh

If the bridge connects from my front door to the venue,
I am there.
