I have to find a song for my wedding for the first dance. I need help. Anybody got any suggestions. I've already had these suggested to me....
1) Crazy Love - VanMorrison
2) All I Want Is YOu - U2
3) At Last - Etta James
I'd like to chose like 4 or 5 that I really love and then the 2 of us can make a decision from there. I'm putting your brainstorming skills to the test today!!!
Have a wonderful day all of you!!! I'm off to work.

Have I told you lately by Van Morrison.
Slave to Love by Bryan Ferry, and so many others by him.
But...Etta James is my personal favorite, it seems perfect for weddings.

OK, this is for real.....check out "If I Had The World To Give" on the Go To Heaven album by the Grateful Dead...Jerry at his genious best. Some friends used it at their wedding and all the parents were asking "what was that beautiful song?"
...That what you fear the most could meet you half way...

My sister and her hubbie danced to the OOGA CHUCKA version of "hooked on a feeling" it was really cute! but if you want serious and very romantic there's always "somebody" by Depeche Mode or "Love Song" by The Cure those are my personal favorite sappy songs /images/wink.gif
People are people... so why should it be? That you and I should get along so awfully? DM

i KNOW i said 'at last' before, but if you want some more suggestions, here goes:
* 'angel eyes' was already mentioned... however, it was WRITTEN by john hiatt and sounds MUCH better when he sings it.
* 'if i fall behind' - bruce springsteen (absolutely beautiful)
* 'at my most beautiful' - REM
all beautiful songs... good luck! :)

you are the sunshine of my life - by stevie wonder
when mr groov and i got married, we were thinking of dancing to "when i saw her standin there" (oh shit is that what it is called - please dont revoke my membership to the beatles fan club /images/shocked.gif) by the beatles - you know, walk to the dance floor all serious, get into the wedding dance pose, then the dj erupts in this rocking song and we get down /images/tongue.gif

Alright if you wanna stick with a PJ song I would think that 'Throw Your Arms Around Me' would be beautiful. I second the 'All I Want Is You' by U2 which just so happens to be my boyfriend and I's song!! The Cure 'Love Song' is great. How about country? I know you probably just threw a shoe at the monitor, but many of the weddings I have gone to lately have played Shania Twain 'From This Moment.' Hmmmm.....I am going to keep thinking abhout this question today and hopefully come up with more responses. And please let us know which one you two decide to go with!

Hey... I like Etta James' At Last.. that's a great song....
I know this is like a country song, but my cousin used it at her wedding and it's really pretty, it's called When You Say Nothing At All, by Allison Krauss.
I was actually thinking about what my wedding song would be the other day (even though I have no boyfriend and am not even dating anyone right now) and I was thinking that it would have to be a PJ song, but I can't think of anything that would work. They don't really have anything that's like a simple love song. Not that I can think of anyway.
Good luck... let us know what you decide!!!
