How Can I avoid Being Killed in North Philly, and other such questions?

Okay- Just a little question for all you all. My interview at Temple is Monday, and I want to know what is the best way to get to the school that would be safe and affordable (at 8 am)? Also, would anyone advise renting a car? And when they say you can be safe if you are vigilant, what exactly do they mean?
Anyhow, any opinion would be greatly appreciated and remember, good deeds feed good Karma.......

PS. I will be staying in Center City

Hey everyone!

I feel like I already know you guys. I am a long time reader, first time poster. Everyone really helped during the application process.

I was just seeing who was going to Temple next year. That is where I decided to go. I am from the Philly area and think it's a great school.

I'm sure a similar thread has been started, but I just wanted to say hi and finally make a real post. I had some technical troubles posting before, but now they're resolved.

Cool. Thanks everyone again. I think this is a great message board!

If you like to drink beer, go to Manayunk or Roxborough. I went to Main street Manayunk today to get a bite to eat and every time somebody stepped in the door, they were basically coming in to get their munch on. Also, there were at least two drunk couples making out on the sidewalk and a lot of loud drunk conversations and goofing off going on. I thought I was in college again but it was great. Seriously though, I just moved to Roxborough and I love it. What stands out the most to me is the friendliness of the people here. I've been here two days and pretty much all of my neighbors on my street have welcomed me to the neighborhood. People have gone out of their way to make my girlfriend and I feel comfortable. I can tell that this is a very tight knit community and I think it is a great quiet place to live. And on the weekends, after all the exams and clinic work, you can go down to Main Street and act like your 18 again . I don't know many other places but I do highly recommend either Roxborough or Manayunk.

Spo, are these you posts? or are they being made by some other person. If they are you, you read differently than you do here.

Your handwriting is illegible. Mine on the other hand, is the Schnizzle!!
