“So much for nothing”

Your eyes keep skipping
As youre walking in stride
His footsteps are keeping you in pace

There’s so much of nothing
When youre walking behind
It seems so unfair to follow him

-beginning riff one time, break back in-

you think of life as its falling
past your eyes
down to that deep surprise

its so much of nothing
but youd like it to be
all the things that you dream…

-pre chorus-
but so much is crushing in on you
and you’ve no where to turn, you scream
-
so much for nothing
is it all you can say while you walk away from him
and so much of something
has injected you now and you cant let go
-
he’s stepping in front now,
nervous as hell
with each step he burns inside

for the girl behind him
he can hear every step
and the motions she makes

-break-

he’s been in love for months now
but she has no clue
he just adores the way she sees him

so, so much for nothing
he’s got too many things inside
and walking too fast for her to tell
-
that if it were different
he’d turn around and lift her up

and never let her go
but he cant, he cant…
-

“well, so much for nothing
is that all you can say while you walk away from me
and so much of nothing
is all that you gave
and you just walked away”

-bridge-

“so much for nothing
is all that you say while you walk away
and so much of something
of the look in your eye, it comes as no surprise.”

He just wishes her a good life without

-rough draft of a new song.
without the music its criminal.

I really like these lyrics.
it reminds me of Orpheus and Eurydice

thanks, om.

i kind of created a story based around an old crush i had on a girl back in probably 93-97ish. god i wanted that girl.. but i always kept her at arms length because i knew if i tried something and it didnt work out id lose her as a friend. at the time she had a boyfriend in college up in lubbock. and i knew he was shit but never really said much about it... he was cheating on her the whole time. so i just played surrogate boyfriend almost... but without the sexual benefits (shut up i was young) the bottom line i guess was that in the end, her and i found out later that we both liked each other pretty much in the same way.... but oh well. i still know her today and she is still one of the coolest women i know and probably the only one i care to just sit down with and talk to for hours.

sometimes fantasy and longing are better than the actions that might ruin something much better than a few times in the sack. keeps the blood rushing along. it did for me anyway.

i dont know if any of this made sense. i just woke up

*phew*
For a moment, I'd thought maybe the show was cancelled.

"sometimes fantasy and longing are better than the actions that might ruin something much better"
- I think you captured that sentiment really well. Nice work as usual, Mr. Maverick.

I like it. Very bueno.

And, yeah, sounds like the typical college male here in lubbock. haha I can count on one hand the truly decent guys I know/have met here. And I've met quite a few people. I digress

It'll sound GREAT when it's recorded. :) Sure to be better than over the phone. ;)
