I Hope You Get This Message...........!!!!!!!!!!!!! Omg!!!

Friday morning before we left for West Palm I had this brilliant idea to make something to get to the band to help our chances of getting in to the House of Blues. Without more than 1 minutes thought I took some old cards and some newspaper clippings and remade the cards begging the guys to get us into the HOB. You know, they were totally cheesy but pretty funny.... like I had a picture of Yanni saying...please get my friends Javy and Serena into the HOB or I'll play a medley of all my songs... stuff like that....
so the night of the West Palm show it was very difficult to get this envelope to any of the guys even tho we were way in the front. By the end of the show I figured better get it up there anywhere.... so I made sure one of the pretty girls (someone who looked like she could possible get this thing to Ed...she was w/ a little boy and they had complete access) saw my husband toss the envelope and when we made eye contact I just said PLEASE take that envelope!!... and when she left the stage, she had it in her hand.
That's the last I saw of her or the envelope...but I had a good feeling about it. I knew if anyone from the band saw it, there was a chance.....

so, we go to the House of Blues and I cannot tell you..the first few times my husbands phone rang...I gasped....would it be them...
well... no it was not to be....
I am going to tell the story of how we got into the HOB on another post.....
but this morning...Monday, my husband wakes me up at 6 am and says you gotta hear this message on my phone:

ok....this is what I remember because he toook the damn phone with him to work...goddammit...
but here it is:

"Hi, this is a message for javy and serena, it's Eddie Vedder calling.... I got ummm some cards here...and ummm I appreciate them and ..I'm sorry I didn't get them til today, which is April 13th the day after we played the club and I was hoping that somehow you were able to get in and umm... i would've, I would've (laughing a bit) gone for it if I would've gotten your package a little sooner.
i appreciate you listening to our music and your feeling the need to be there... (- or something to that effect)
If you were there, I hope it turned out good and worth it and if you weren't, it was awful and you didn't miss a thing .(.little laugh)...
ok.. take good care of each other and see you down the road ...ok.....bye..."

We tried calling my cell and leaving me a message (by holding one up to the other)with my husband's phone but it wouldn't work!!!!

ohmygod you guys ... I cannot tell you how impressed I am with Ed taking the time to leave that damn message...

That's awesome! I'd try calling your cell phone company and ask if there's any way you can somehow get an audio copy on tape or CD from your voicemail box. I've heard of people doing this before when people die and their cell message is the last spoken word they have as memories and stuff.

Here's something that may also work: With my cell phone service at least, I'm pretty sure I can check my voicemail messages from a regular phone after calling, entering my pin, and number. If you do this from a phone that has a speakerphone feature, you could record it with a PC mic, I suppose.

The idea suggested previously sounds the best, though. Try that first for sure.

ok, your phone should have a hands-free jack on the side. all you have to do is get an audio cord that will plug into the hands free jack (go to radio shack or something and ask for an audio plug with the same size connection on either side... like the size that headphones plug into on a walkman) and simply plug the other end directly into your "LINE IN" jack on the back of your PC... the soundcard. then, pull up musicmatch jukebox and simply set the recorder's SOURCE to LINE IN.. then simply hit record and check your voicemail. it should record it all. oh and also set the recorder to record it in mp3 format. its all in the properties at the top of the player...

i hope that made sense.

I figured I would never have that experience
...and now I have my own special story.

I will never forget this weekend....
The West Palm show (which was one of the best ever)
Getting into the HOUSE OF BLUES (that sort of thing was something I could only dream of happening and even when i was there, i didn't believe it was real)
and The Message (!)

and now it is almost a certainty that I will be at the MSG show, night 2.

and I want to say something about the HOB because I still haven't written anything about that experience...
(too long of a story!)


we got in through sheer determination.
and it was worth every bit of anxiety I suffered through....

we met some very cool, friendly people but
