This sort of crazy cult leader said that. The situation, actually, was he was being psychologically evaluated or something, adn they were doing a word association thing, and it was, complete this sentence: "Love is ______" and without missing a beat he responded "a trick." He might be one fucked up dude (by fucked up well he had this horrible upbringing or something and... well it had ramifications), but that quote really struck me... I like it alot. Maybe cuz I've never been in love. Maybe it's comforting. In a sick way. Maybe it actually is the truth. Certainly tricks are things that convincingly fool the senses, so if you wanna argue that love isn't a trick, maybe yr just being tricked! i really like this quote. I'm also open to being proven wrong by experience, but til then... and *if* t hat even ever happens... it's my credo. :)
The one discrepancy is that I KNOW that I love Pearl Jam, that's basically the only thing I love (as well as music on a larger scale, but not that much larger... I dont' listen to that diverse of music)... But it is NOT a trick. maybe just people love is a trick. /images/wink.gif
Oh further context for this, it makes the quote that much cooler: This crazy dude got h is followers by doing alot of sort of sleight of hand tricks and illusions and stuff, so they thought he had powers of the mind and whatnot. So saying "love is a trick" is especially... significant and fitting.
Anywho, i'm about fried from the computer here, i've been endlessly trying to pursue a job search and it ain't working. Anyone in Seattle wanna hire me? I don' think i' ll do sexual favors, tho. And i won't strip. I won't do anything degrading. Unless I get really desperate.
But I'm really... I... i have a couple remedial skills. I'm clumsy but i do like workign with my hands (out of the gutter, pleez)... I love music. I ... i like to sleep, when i'm not having insomnia sort of issues. Well i guess i especially like to sleep then, what i ha te is the beign awake thing.
