Okay I'm already stark raving MAD! How long has this rat bastard been prez? A couple days? Well guess what?

'President Bush, vowing to protect ``every person at every stage and season of life,'' said Monday he will take swift action to restrict U.S. funds to international family-planning groups involved in abortion.'

Furtherfuckingmore...
Says Mr Bushwack: ``The promises of our Declaration of Independence are not just for the strong, the independent or the healthy. They are for everyone, including unborn children. We share a great goal, to work toward a day when every child is welcomed in life and protected in law ... to build a culture of life, affirming that every person at every stage and season of life, is created equal in God's image.''

I WILL SCREAM MY LUNGS OUT TIL IT FILLS THIS ROOM...
how much difference does it make?
I VOTED AGAINST the fucking scrotum head.

I have no more to say because I am driven by anger to the point of speechlessness.

&*^%*&*_+#*&&*^*&^*&%$#@#%^&% GWB!!!! <-- expletives too vulgar for printing.

Sigh. Okay who wants to rent a flat with me somewhere in Europe? Or... start a commune on a deserted island?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AA

I thought i Just had a brilliant idea. I was like "well some anti-abortion uhhh... [i don't want to call them people, which isn't to say abortion foes aren't ppl, but the folks of whom i speak arent'] pseudo people go shoot up abortion clinics. Maybe a pro-choice/abortion advocate would go shoot up Bush and all his underlings." Then I remembered that it would be damn hard to find a violent, fascist, irrational (not that the deed is irrational in theory, but considering all the obstacles one would have... it's probably a hopeless venture), pro-choicer.

Right then... back to sitting in my room chanting "this is not happening, this is not happening, this is not happening, etc..." For pete's sake, i think i'm having a nightmare here! Won't someone call me or soemthing, come over here and wake me up??? Would it be a frightful wake me up?
Perhaps, but most importantly... EVACUATION! EVACUATIOOON! But fuck... if I leave, then it's like I'm handing the bastard more opportunity to fuck things up... NOt that I am a revolutionary, but if I just escape the problem...

But then there's the thing... like is escape never the safest path, or is it no crime to escape? Gosh I don't know what to do! Maybe start trying to think on my own and not thru PJ? Well see, I think thru PJ because I think on my own but somehow... somehow all my thoughts end up in Pearl Jam songs. So... there ya go, it's still a paradox.

I wish there were a chick-fil-a in michigan. Sigh. Then again, I'd probably eat there every day and become more obese and poorer. I love chick-fil-a.

but... i digress??

unfortunately there will be altered states and lives in the meantime...
but i've already got election day circled on my calendar in 2004....
every move he makes is one more guarantee of his defeat...and that's just what he wants. this man never wanted to be president.

and as for us, those who didn't vote for him...

It's illegal to spend US tax money on abortions in other countries. Always has been.

Bush just closed a major loophole to the law Clinton opened.

I don't think Roe v Wade should be overturned either (not that it will) but I don't think my tax dollars should go towards aboritions in foreign countries.

Furthermore, I think it's pretty damn insensitive for pro-choice activists to trash people who are against abortion. It's one thing to be pro-choice, but be willing to see the other side... don't just hide behind pro-choice euphamisms, because it really fucks up the debate. Abortion TERMINATES THE LIFE OF A LIVING THING. There isn't one right answer to the question.

I have to stay away from these threads.

My hub, who's older than I am, said he has never witnessed a more inept president than Bush. He does NOT have the experience to be running this country....everything kids....and I mean EVERYTHING will be decided by his advisors. He might have some heavy decision making to look forward to, like......

Admittedly, I didn't quite read the whole article, I was too angry... but actually it doesn't even make a difference in terms of PRINCIPLE whether or not spending us tax $ on abortions overseas is legal. GWB's act is a stepping stone to what I'm sure will be further and less warranted (if by warranted you mean it is supposedly "technically illegal" anyway) moves to eradicate abortion completely from this country.

Maybe even... it's not just a stepping stone but step one... He figures that first he'll make it difficult for Americans seeking abortions (when he makes it illegal) to do so outside of the U.S., so that they're just trapped by his future actions. He's conniving... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

And the fact of the matter is, this was one of the first things he did as president. Which implies, to me, that the abortion issue is at the top of his agenda and blacklist.

FURTHERMORE, regardless of what the rest of the article said and even the move he made today, he was quoted saying things that are blatantly anti-abortion and pro- doing away with it.

I hope there's enough room in the white house for all the (possibly fucked up) kids that are gonna be born if abortion is illegal, and I hope GWB is going to look after them.

Do you really think Bush overturned Clinton's overturn because he was planning ahead to when he singlehandedly makes abortion illegal in this country? Come on... you're totally blinded by anti-Bush sentiment here.

Bush restored the law for political reasons. It's dangerous for this country to fund abortion groups in countries that aren't quite as free-thinking as this one... in a lot of countries, especially muslim ones, abortion is absolutely illegal, no matter what. For this country (in which the people stand divided 50-50 on abortion) do you really think it's smart for us to send taxpayer money away to promote abortion in places where it's illegal?

Think about that. If abortion is illegal in some of these countries, who in the abortion groups is PERFORMING the abortions behind the government's back? And where? Doesn't sound very safe.

What was our government supporting here?

It was all just a political move on his part... something to say "Here I am, I'm the Prez now... watch me make good on the promises I made!" Every president comes in and makes a political move right away, something that will appease his proponents and piss off his opponents. It's all scripted folks.

Amen, Sandi......

Just because he says it, doesn't mean it will happen. As a non American, i have had to endure 3 months of:

"...well, you know....our system is about checks and balances....."
"...This is just another example of the wonderful checks and balances in our system"
"...The founding father sought to enshtrine our freedom by putting in place checks and balances....."

To be honest, if I hear anything else about checks and balances, i will scream.

Sandi is right. Every tiome a President comes into the office he has to make a big statement right away, and none more so that GWB. The fact is that he needs a law to be passed to restrict anything to do with abortion, or any other social issue. With congress so evenly poised, do you think he is going to waste time trying to win support for a decision which wil be unpopular with a vast number of VERY vocal VERY mobile people? I don't think so....he won't win any votes out of this either.....

My guess is that he wil go for the low hanging fruit and push through the tax cuts he has promised. He already has bi-partisan support for it, the stage of the business cycle is right and it will make him look credible.

He is, at this very moment, I am sure, telling his suposed far right backers that the climate is not right for these issues to be brought up, that they can't be won in this term. That means 4 years at least.....i think you shold be happy with this results. he will only be able to do the things that everyone wants him to do, and will be able to do none of the things that people don't want him to do.
