Need to know something from you guys

Hi everyone,

Maybe I'm just feeling sorry for myself here, and again, each one of us is our own worst critics, but I have to admit that lately I've felt sort of uncomfortable talking/writing to you guys because I'm not sure if I'm liked or not. Well, I have a feeling I am liked, but at the same time, it seems as if I drive people away. It's been that way my whole life; I have sent so many people running away from me, and I have also had a lot of people not want to even come near me with a ten-foot pole. Do I give off a vibe or something? Now, I know I can't be liked by everybody. That's just not possible. But frankly, my motto as it relates to my social life (or lack thereof) has always been "That's okay, if I were you, I wouldn't hang out with me, either...". Lately on this BBS and at times back on Synergy, I found myself as a bit of a "thread-killer". Just been wondering in the back of my mind if all of you are going "God, what an annoying, obsessive whiner" or something along those lines. I hope that's not the case, but if you do feel that way, I sure as hell don't blame ya. I don't really know what my objective is with this post, and I'm not looking for pity, but I just wanted to kind of get these feelings out in the open, because I DO NOT want to drive any of you away.

oh my god i swear you read my mind!!! i used to always think i was the "thread killer" over at Synergy, and i sometimes feel like that over here too, but not too much cause you guys are waaaaay nicer. i don't think you're whiny at all! in fact you are one of the people i want to get to know better. you seem really interesting and very nice. i was hoping to get to know a lot of you guys better. i don't know maybe i'm just too scared to actually get out there and do something but it seems like whenever i do people dislike me for it.

I feel like I am only starting to get to know you even tho you were at Synergy the whole time I was. It wasn't until you joined CJWM that I started to interact with you a little more. You know, you are *always* engaged in conversation there, so why do you think people don't like you? You are obviously very intelligent, you are a great writer and I think it is really cool that you aspire to work in a field generally dominated by men. Yer pretty funny too, and you know what? i often wonder that too..but, i realize there is always someone either here or at the BBS i can relate to on an equal level,..i'm not going to make friends with everyone, but the ones i do connect with make me feel great...

it is hard for me to communicate over the Internet, with my poor typing skills, but this is the case offline, but i'm working a little harder each day to reach out to the people around me - hey! if it is only one person, all the better, i say!

Aww, Sarah. I know exactly how you feel. I always feel that way. But there's nothing for you to worry about. You've always been super nice, and you really helped me feel more apart of the Jamily.
