...I didn't sleep very well last night. I got up very early on the morning of 15 Nov (mid afternoon on 14 Nov for all you east coasties) and went to work thinking that I could ease into the day and then, at 9am, buty tickets to the Pearl Jam concert in Melbourne ( They have now announced a second date in all cities).

I arrived at the office at 6:30 am, and decided to do 2.5 hours of work before the box office opened. No way was I going to forget.

It was 4:30 pm before I realised that I had missed the boat. I slapped my head, tore my hair out and then rushed to the website. Both Melbourne concerts sold out.

I am an idiot...no 10c membership, crap tickets.....

Pity me.

no...I'M the original all-time idiot...
i sent my money to 10C from the address off the cassette jacket of 'ten' when it was released in 1991..and it took me months, years, before i realized i never got a response..a membership.
and i never did anything further about for 10 fucking years.
pearl jam has played detroit venues several times, including 3 miles from my house in 1998 and i only saw them for the FIRST time in 2000. one can only imagine had i kept up my 10c membership from 1991 where i may have been seeing them and sitting all those years...
like my momma always says, "you may think yer an idiot but there's always someone stupider than you..."

perhaps a trip to the states may be in order, michael? you know.. for a show or two here?

yer not an idiot and i still love ya so you got that going for you.

well, michael, if there are as many scalpers in oz as there is in the us, you should have no problem getting tickets.

and then, im sure you know this, if you get to the venue around 1pm on the day of the show, the venue always releases additional reallygood seats.

or you could go to a ticket service...i mean after all you are mr.moneybags rogue trader ;) all that work can pay off to buy you some great seats!! :D

My only source is from someone who posted at Synergy, but evidently this person phoned Ticketek and said they've confirmed a 3rd Melbourne show has been added, and that tickets go on sale on Monday at 9 a.m.

Cath, Thanks for the tip on the 3rd show in Melbourne. I managed to get some great seats this one. I am Mike side, just behind the ten club seats according to the lovely people at Ticketek.

Stoked. Now I just have to get a ticket for the second gig and I will nbe at all 3. I MUST do it!!!

soak it up while its there. don't be that guy who whistles and yells "Eddie" while the song is playing. I hate that guy. he's on every bootleg I've ever heard.

Never. I will NEVER be that guy.

I'll just be the guy on Mike side with the child like grin on my face , and the greying hair, giggling every once in a while and just enjoying the whole thing as much as I can. No doubt I will be singing along with the songs and I will definatly be trying to catch one of Mike's picks...and I'll go home an sleep the sleep of the satisfied and contented.

But I will never be the "Eeeeeeddddddddiiiiiiiieeeeeee" guy.

Good luck, Roguester. May the force be with you as I've heard said.

PJ's playing some shows in Japan, too, I've heard. Haven't made it by the "proper authorities" on the issue to confirm this yet. If so, I guess that's pretty neat. hehe It also tells me when exactly they AREN"T gonna be in the states. lol

the absolute worst on the bootlegs/at the shows is not the screaming "EDDIE" guy, but definitely the screaching "EDDIE" girls. My god, they sound like banshees!

um monkeybrains, I understand not wanting crap seats, but unless you Aussies do it differently, there should be good tickets popping up online in the next few weeks, as people cancel their orders, and so on and so forth, so don't give up yet.

Plus if you were planning on going solo or anything, that is even better, there are always really good single seats popping up weeks after the shows are sold out. You just need to check the sites that sell the tickets every couple of days.

goodluck if you try.

Hey Jason, good to see you :)

You can't actually get a refund or cancel your purchase onece it is made. The broker, Ticketek Australia , will not allow the cancellation of tickets once they are bought. Austraia Law allows them to do this as long as they inform the holder prior to purchase.

The first 2 shows in melbourne sold out inside of an hour. Short of going to a scalper at the venue on the night and paying about 2.5 times the cost of the tix (about AUD200.00) it's tough to go if you miss out on the forst round. Most 'ticket brokers' also do not carry the seats as it's not a 'family event', as I found to my chagrin, last week.

We get screwed down here!!

Well Rogue, I'm sure either way it'll be a great show.

crap tickets are better than no tickets.

rock on man, you gotta let the music tell you it's okay that yer nose is bleeding :)

I've had "crap seats" before at PJ shows and the shows were still great. Besides, you kinda get a feel of the whole atmosphere - you see the energy of the band and its reflection onto the crowd, and vice versa.

Oh I know...I have 'Crap seats' for the first night (right up in the nose bleeds about as far from the stage as I can get), but there is NO way I will be selling them off...unless i can get better ones.

Being in a bit of a better cash position than Jess, I may even speak to a scalper at the venue on the second night....seems like a shame to miss it.

dood, Chris and I were talking about skalpers and shit... and I would easily go to as many concerts as possible if I couldn't buy the tickets somewhere else.

I mean, who cares, if I want to get good seats and into the show, honestly: I dont care if the band says it's bad, because most bands do, but if I can get good seats and have the money, count me first in line for those fuckers :)

Hey Jake, glad you had a great time last week:D

Sorry about that Rogue, that sucks, but I still think, there must be some tickets available for those shows, even though, they say the show is sold out, in every other ticket company I have heard of, there are always some seats put online at a later date.

As groovn stated before, at least here in the States, you can get tickets the day of the show at the arena, but again maybe it is different down under:(

In terms of crap seats, I had the worst seats possible for what most people think is the best concert Pearl Jam has ever done, and even though I was as far away fro the stage as I could be, it was still an amazing night.

Hell the only thing bad about the night, was not where the seats were, but the assholes in my section, who were not really into the show, but more into getting high, and ruining the show for others around them.
