View Full Version : Little Secrets
Fuck, it's been a while since I really sat down & listened to Tremor Christ, but today I did just that. The lyrics are just magic.
Winded is the sailor
Drifting by the storm
Wounded is the organ
He left all...
Bloodied on the shore
Gorgeous was his saviour
Sees her drowning
In his wake..
Daily tastes the salt
Of her tears, but
Chance blamed Fate
Little secrets,
tremors..
turned to quake..
The smallest oceans
Still get..
Big, big waves.
Ransom paid the devil..
He whispers pleasing words
Triumphant are the angels
If they can
Get there first...
Little secrets....
I'll decide
Take the dive
Take my time
Not my life
Wait for signs
Believe in lies
To get by...
It's divine
Oh, ho,
You know what
It's LIKE?
Turns the bow back
Towards him and..drops the line
Puts his faith in love &
Tremor Christ
Maybe it's all boring to just post lyrics like this, or maybe not. I think the poetry in this song can simply stand on its own, as well as be a fucking great song.
Love ever,
Ger

I posted about this song yesterday hoping to get some interpretations and only got one. Anyone else out there have some thoughts on Tremor Christ?
No, I have no thoughts on pearl jam's lyrics, sandi. you know me better than that. :>

Iagree too...Tremor Christ is soooo cool because of the lyrics, them being more so a poem than a lot of other PJ lyrics...and the intensity in the song is great too.

"Triumphant are the Angels...
if they can........get there first....."
This has to be one of my favorite lines.
It means so much.....
And this is one of my favorite paintings...
it's a detail from the painting "The Virgin and Child" by Pietro Perugino....I believe he was alive from 1450-until around 1520..

Isn't that just beautiful?
Triumphant...

I saw this performed at the Sacramento show - absolutely awesome version - Eddie did a solo guitar riff sitting on the end of the stage - first there was a flood light on him and he looked up and did the old "cut it" throat gesture and all the light went down and he WAILED - and to make it even better - I was only 6 rows away - he was RIGHT THERE!!!!!
It was the highlight of my night - what an awesome time - I had chills from the first chord to the last!
