View Full Version : Just wondering.......

I was in the kitchen just now making some coffee and some spaghetti.......Listening to the concert that Johnny Carwash so thoughtfully provided for us (Thanks JC)......and I was lookinmg at the coffee plunger I bought from Starbucks (I know.....but untill I get an actual apartment here, I don't want to commit to major appliances), and I thought ....wow.....I can't believe i actually paid 3000 for this thing (that's about $30 for all you people in the states).....then my mind shot off on a tangent.....I bet Stone has one of those 3 tap solid copper Espresso machines.....I wonder.....

What do you think the members of the band (what band? If ya have to ask......) spend their cash on?.....

I mean, they have to spend it on something...apart from food and beers and all that sort of stuff.....we sure as hell know that they don't spend a whole heap on clothes.....

Stone and Mike seem to have lots of guitars....

Stone has lots of pants.....and lots of glasses.....

Mike also has lots of tatts.....and little doo hickies for the tops of the amps...

Jeff has hats.....

Matt has......what?....drum sticks?

and Ed?.....his taste in wine is horrible....he certainly doesn't spend alot on hair cuts......we know he saved a PACKET on razor blades during the last tour.....he doesn't seem to own a computer....he's been carrying around that battered old school case for years.....he used to spend a fair bit of cash on masks and stuff, but doesn't seem to do that anymore.

I get the impression that most of the guys don't drive big cars (especially if you believe the opening of SVT) and that they don't live in big houses....Ed seems to 'pop up' all over the place, so maybe he spends his money on airfares...Maybe Stone and Mike and Jeff spend their money on the side projects.

I don't think that any of the guys in this band are 'rich' in the same way as an 'Nsync or a Britney Spears or a Celine Dion or Ricky Martin.....I think they do OK, though....the deal they cut with Sony was at the beginning of their careers so I am betting it is not stacked in their favour too much....I think all of their albums have gone Platnum, but they don't move millions of units in the way that other bands do...they don't licence out their music to televion companyies or anything.......so they would not be super rich, but probably doin' OK.....

So where does it go?

I've probably spent too long wondering about an inconsequential point.....but I guess you can take the boy out of the bond business, but not the bond business....

Well you get the idea......

Let me know what you think

Hehehe. Though I agree they must not spend a great deal on clothes, I'd have to say that Ved must spend some of his money on the extensive collection of those green shirts he has. I mean....that can't be the same shirt he had back in '91....and he does wear it a lot. Maybe he's like those cartoons where they open their closet and it's filled with about twenty sets of that one outfit they always have on....So I think that's where his money goes. To buying green shirts.

:o)

I think Ed uses his money to buy the homes of evil old men down the street who call him "Napoleon" whenever he walks by.

I think Jeff's money goes towards:
- Hats
- Season tickets to the Sonics
- Sneakers
- Binaural socks
- Art supplies
- Bass guitars and other musical instruments (piano, guitars, funky drums and foreign instruments for Three Fish)
- Camping equipment
- Snowboards
- Coffee and domestic brew
- His place in Montana (I hear it's quite the spread)

I *wish* there was "something" I could tell you, but all of my knowledge comes from interviews and observation via public sources. No more, no less. I'm like a sponge for these types of facts. For example, did you know he has a 100-year-old Czech acoustic upright situated in the corner of the living room of his apartment in Seattle?

No, I don't. Maybe someday, but I'm still working on it. My ultimate mission is to get a copy of that article he wrote for "Slam" about Rodman. I HAVE to get that one before I die!

Jeff sportwriting = personal Utopia!

Who do you write for, Sarah?

I gotta tell you.....I like the 76's this year.,...but watch the Knicks and for Phil Jackson to be coaching somewhere like the Nets next year.

Surely yo can just contact Slam and get them to send you a back issue?

I don't write for anyone (yet), but my ultimate goal is to be a sports journalist. I work at a sports TV network right now.

I like the 76ers... Having Iverson in the Finals would give the Suits a shitfit! Aaron McKie does some great things, too.

Phil Jackson coaching the Nets... That rumor's been out there for a few years now. Ya never know.

And I ALWAYS watch the Knicks. They're my favourite team, baby! I've been with them since the Pat Riley era, when I first got into hoops. You're talking to a chick that owns a NYK garbage can and an old John Starks jersey! *LOL*
Oh the suffering I have endured because of my love of the Knicks!!!

Planning to contact "Slam" but have been too lazy!
