ok...so I sit in an office alot. 8 hours a friggen stinkin day. so it goes. occassionally I do those little web polls like the ones on the home page of netscape. i don't do them for the validity of the results or the lack of, but to just do them. Just to see I guess. And every single time the majority ALWAYS votes on the opposing side of my vote.
Nader in debtaes- Me Yes, them, No.
Recount Y, them N
and today's Ashcroft as Attorney Gen..Me NO, them yes.

So, I'm begining to think I'm the only person even slightly on the left side of the divide who works in an office. Let me explain...( and I know I am exxagerating, just let me,)

so, traditionally the working class, the farmers, the factory workers, the single moms, the waiters, etc....are usually democrats.the white collars being the religious wealthiER repubs....sooo this is my thought, the people doing these polls are the people in front of computers, laptops, etc...in offices and limos and fast cars and such..while the demos are in teh factories or what not away from web polls. AM I making ANY sense cause I think i just lost myself. so are these polls way skewed or what

amy, i don't know about this.... i live near farmland, lots of dairy farms in particular, and those people (generally speaking) are about as Republican as they come!!! Altho that *could* be the dutch influence out there in the county... the town most of them live near shuts down on Sundays... no lawn mowing, no nuttin!!! So yeah, I think you are over-generalizing this thing.... and I have a feeling I would tend to vote like you... and I don't always come out on the opposing end. And just remember... it's not only you peeps who sit in offices all day doing those polls.... not by a long shot. That may be where your generalization falls apart :)

Good thoughts tho babe!

LOL girl.... that wasn't your ass talking... you were just thinking out loud and that's cool.... it's good to have these thoughts and expressions. There certainly may be some validity to what you said... i was just sharing my thoughts ... maybe it was my ass talking too? I've learned that generalizations (generally) get you in trouble!!!

Well, I don't know, maybe it's a fair generalization, but I definitely don't fit it.

I'm a Republican.

Not religious.
Not wealthy.
Think Ashcroft was a terrible pick.
Nader in debates: No problem with that.
Recount: Only if you want to recount the ENTIRE country.

Republicans represent half the country. I don't think they're all rich old white men with fast cars and strong religious beliefs.

That's what gives them the common perception of being evil, heartless, racist jerks. Ed's as guilty of this as anybody.

i guess my perception of repubs comes from observation and conversation....I have 2 repub parents. Not always the most open minded of people. and I listen to tohers here at work and I tell you...they fit the stereotype. But I realize that not all are the same...that's why I blame my ass for speaking out of turn!

If my ass started speaking, I'd be a little to surprised to blame it for anything /images/smile.gif
