FYI (soundblaster card owners)

okay for those that have heard some of my shitty recordings. well, i finally got pissed and just hunted down the source of distorting anytime id sing at a certain higher level.

well for anyone else who has a 5.1 or audigy card, if you go into the advanced settings of the mic it has a 20db BOOST that screws everything up. you have to UNcheck it. Im sure its more for dictation so people dont have to mess with their settings. anyway i fixed it and recorded the last song i did and it didnt distort and the levels were good.

just IN CASE anyone else out there was having this problem. just thought id share that.

well, the new file was the last one i did. i dont think anyone liked it it was the "i know" song.. but it didnt distort.

the only thing is you have to up the mic all the way.

im just glad that i figured out it was a simple adjustment hehe
