with security all a mess, and a mess made of my mind
my country turns one year older, looks for peace it'll never find
we've got tennis star pakastanis upset at israeli jews
i'm so sick of hearing of murder on the news
red white and blue, means so much to young adults
like myself on the mainland where we aren't the only ones at fault.
with problems on our borders, we're still the main destination
for destitute peasants with no major skill or vocation
i'm proud of my country and the thoughtfulness produced
but these idiot politicians should fucking die in their suits.
conflicting statements abound, as if nothing's the matter
these bullshit phrases spouted out on the page, here's the laughter
from the right wing puppets saying "your vote will never count"
and the left wing anarchists "don't listen to him, he'll buy anyone at the right amount"
and who is to say what to believe, who is right?
all i know is i've got more on my mind than firecrackers tonight.

very very very very cool/images/cool.gif

I like the part about the politicians in their suits/images/cool.gif

This just sums up all my political beliefs. I never know who to believe. I think they all lie. There's always too much happening. It makes my brain wobble/images/tongue.gif

And you wrote it in 7 minutes!/images/shocked.gifholy crap!/images/shocked.gif

in a hedonistic way:

"....wow zach(k?).. that poem rushed through me like a gentle zephyr caressing the licking waves of the pond.. I thank you. thank you. you are such........ a talented poet.... and...
i hope to hear more from you.
wow.
...like a solar flare surging through my very being.. emanating a warm light and heat that everyone around me can feel in their bones...and elicit a cheshire smile.....
*toke* *toke*"

no really. last line, bang up job.

I like that....alot

I know it's not politically correct but I don't think I have ever been as appathedic(sp?) about the 4th as I feel now. I'm not going to watch any fireworks or anything else and I really couldn't give a shit.
