The J-Lo refernce is funny as hell! :)

Joey, Johnny, Dee Dee, Tomy, the Ramones are next. Energy picks up notably in the room and in the announcer's voice. "Hey, Ho let's Go." Eddie Vedder is the presenter. He has a mohawk, a black leather jacket, and a Ramones shirt. Eddie tells us that the Ramones' songs weren't short, they were fairly long songs played really fat (per Johnny). Edie tells of his first ramones show - intense, scary, filled with real outcasts. The mic stand was set real high, Eddie couldn't figure whqat kind of singer would have his mic stand that high: Joey Ramone. "The Ramones played 2,269 shows. Eddie says J-Lo has a lot of catching up to do.

Eddie explains the Ramones in response to disco, arena rock, etc. The Ramones were a blueprint for the unslick. The Ramones were our Beatles." Eddie has a notebook. He says it may be time for another revolution: old men writing songs for Disney kids, but that's another story, says Eddie. He is speaking in a very desultory, almost sedated voice. He speaks of his guilt of selling so many records vis-a-vis the Ramones, he tells of mowing Johnny Ramone's lawn in penance. Bono does the windows, etc.

Eddie now weeps for the Ramones' last bassist, CJ, who sweeps air ducts 12-hours a day and was not invited by the Rock Hall to participate in the ceremony. Eddie relates that Johnny introduced him to Brenda Lee, Gene Pitney. Eddie swears - he is a rebel. Finally he gets to Joey, a rock 'n'roll scholar, who would have most appreciated being inducted. He died of cancer last April, one month short of his 50th birthday. I hate to say this because he was clearly sincere, but Eddie kind of drained the drama out of the introduction. The Ramones take the podium. Johnny says thanks to all, including president Bush. Tommy thanks many, including Phil Spector, who told them they were the greatest band since the Rolling Stones. He says they were truly brothers, even when they weren't civil.
