Anyone happy that the Canadian skate pair got their well deserved gold medal today? I am happy that they got it, cause it was rightfully theirs, and those damn corrupted judges screwed them majorly. Way to go!

Gotta go watch some hockey...Canada vs. Sweden...But a good one is coming up later....Czech vs. Germany! YAY!

my take on the medal thingy...that they should throw out the russian AND the french judges and then see where the scores land everybody. although part of me doesnt see WINNING the silver medal as losing the olympics...i mean, lets put this in perspective!

I like the snowboarding as well. It looks like so much fun! It seems that all our countries medals came from snowboarding..don't we know how to do anything else? hehe

I can second your opinion about getting the Russian and French judges outta there. I would love to see how things are after that. That was a shame to see.

I'm kinda partial to "Bed Olympic's".
I've won the gold medal every year since 1980,with the exception
of 1988,when i was recuperating from hernia surgery. /images/wink.gif
It require's that you have ton's of stamina and staying power.
You must be able to perform at you're very highest and show the judge's
lot's of different position's and combination's. /images/tongue.gif

Nothing wrong with not watching it...I've always liked the olympics but I haven't watched this year for some reason. Maybe I should watch some before it's over, I dunno.

Curling isn't boring if you understand it. Think of it as pool crossed with darts on ice. . . with 42 lb. stones and a bunch of yelling. Besides, it's one of Canada's few chances for another 2 medals. :oP

I like a lot of the sports. . . speed skating, ski jump, snowboarding -- that 18 year-old from Finland on the half-pipe was really cool; lots of devil signs and a mohawk. Hardcore. I like the luge, bobsleigh, aerials, downhill, super G, biathalon, hockey . . . . basically everything except ice dancing.

I agree...like most of the events enough to watch at least a bit...
except ice dancing and mens figure skating.
I esp like HOCKEY and the super down hills...wow! scary!
I would've liked to have seen PICABO win!
The speed-skating relays are cool and that guy Apolo is cute.
I wish I could ski/snowboard well. Seems like such a great feeling...
but I have a healthy fear of speed...and of heights... so, oh well :)
When I get on a ski lift, I usually break into tears. Wimp.

Some of my favorites are figure skating, pairs and ladies, skiing moguls (J. Moseley was robbed!), snowboarding in the half-pipe was fun to watch, long jump and ski jumps, lots of it actually. I really enjoy figure skating because, well I've always secretly wanted to be able to do that.

Conversely, I am a happy camper. I went into the Finland-Canada game without much hope. . . though as soon as the game started I instantly forgot about any notions conceived earlier in the Olympics. I think the guys are back in form. The Finns' goalie played great and Brodeur was awesome, which made it really exciting. The game went by really quickly for me, probably 'cause the pace was nice and fast.
I was ready for another 2 periods. :o)

Now that my front runner team is out, Im USA hockey all the way. It would be nice to see Canada get some kind of medal, to quiet those "critics" that Mr. Gretzgy ripped apart last week. Man, what a calculated rant. I guess it was a good thing. HAHA!

Sykora had a glorious chances through out the game, and the look on his face after the last scoring chance said it best: "I'm so upset right now". Well, atleast he'll be back with the Devils in a day or two. The rest of the boys look mighty tan and healthy today!

I just think it's silly that he's so pissed off as he is. Gee wiz. As an even tempered person as he is, he shot himself in the foot. I know they take pride in "inventing" the game, but it took shape over in Europe first ages and ages. I seriously hope now that the USA wins the gold. Hockey is a worldly game, not strictly Canadian. Greztgy is the greatest athlete of any sport on the face of the planet, but he needs to take a lesson in controlling his managerial skills.

Fluery *aka" "Frankenstein"(in my household) needs temper management classes on the double. And Gary Bettman made is serosly clear that any hijinks on his end, or Gretzgy's or Quinn's, there will be serious reprecussions. That happened on Olympic ice, not NHL. Plus, Fluery has made a complete ass out of himself too many times already this year,anything else might get him in more trouble then he can imagine.

I love how hard the guy works. He's always one of the smallest guys on the ice, and is constantly getting the shit kicked out of him, yet me still gets up.

That shot was a real cheap shot. And regardless of whether or not it was because Fluery was on Hasek doesn't matter. That shot really was cheap and could have been a serious injury. nothing was done about it.

I'm doubting that anything does happen about it in the NHL. Though i'm sure Theo would love to slap a puck in the net right in the guys face.

I think that Wayne was just pissed not because Canada's creating of the game or whatever, but at the fact that they are so hated and they really can't get that hate going. they're too nice. He was a lot calmer the following day, i think that he realized that he may have been a little over the top, but it may have gotten his team thinking that they really need to act like a fucking pissed off team and start hating the fucking European teams...and want to beat the shit out of them /images/smile.gif hehehe

I was reading the sports page today, and I'm getting a bit fed up with alot of countries. I think its the Canadian skaters' fault. Everyone saw that they complained about a result(which was right on their part, cause it uncovered the curruption of skating) and got their way. Maybe they think it'll work for them now. LOL It seems now EVERY country is complaining about something. The Russians are threating to pull out of the closing ceremony this year, and boycott Italy in 2006 because a Russian skier got disqualified for having drugs in her blood before a race, when it is customary to sometimes be tested before a race, kinda like a pop quiz. The South Koreans are bitching because that Sum Young Kim guy cut of Apollo Anton Ohno in the speed skating race and got disqualified and you can not dispute the judging in that sport. He clearly cut him off and that is illegal. No if's and's or but's about it. And now they are considering boycotting the 2006 games. Gretzgy's bitching that everyone is against Canada, and I quote from the Asbury Park Press.... Gretzgy claims "the Americans love our poor start", calling it "American Propaganda". Gee if you don't like our country so much, a country that houses your ass as I write this, then go back home. If Americans hate hockey so much, why are the majority of the NHL teams in the U.S? And why did you play on all American teams (St. Louis, L.A. and later N.Y), and now work for Pheonix? Egads man! And I just heard that the Russians AGAIN are complaining that Elania(spelling is messed up) Slutskya should have won the gold medal (even though she messed up numerous times on a considered easy number)and Sarah Hughes who skated an absolutely flawless very difficult performance should have gotten the silver. The Russians say Sarah won because of "tainted" judging. They are demanding that Slutskya be awarded a dual gold medal. Jesus willies man! Open your eyes and stop sucking your thumb!

All I'd like to say is, instead of complaining about every little thing that goes against your way, SUCK IT UP AND TAKE IT LIKE A MAN! But it seems that men are doing all the complaining. Go figure!
