i think when he was bending over putting gifts under the tree, Rudolph dropped a piece of 'garnish'......see he has been reading all the posts about garnish and buttcracks and thought it would be fun!

unfortunately, he had no parsley, so he used a some spruce tree greens.....ouch!!!
