was anyone in attendance to see pearl jam perform this classic live at the tweeter center (boston 2 North American tour), the second night of their memorable live shows at the tweeter center, was it all that they say it was or more?

what was the mood inside and outside the tweeter center? what tone was the band giving off as they lead up to mike's emotional guitar solo?

please fill us in.

if you want to listen to it live go to http://www.pearljamlive.com

groovN, you wanna take this one or should I? We've certainly talked enough about it....

I'm curious Seth, before I tell you my impressions of it, what makes it stand out for you as a bootleg?

It was pretty heavy. I was like 7th or 8th row and basically, Ed just lost his shit. He got so upset he even punched the mic, but you can't hear it on the boot. And then he stumbled back after he finished singing and you can sort of hear the mic hit the ground when he just let it fall. It was pretty hard to watch.

But I'd say most people didn't even notice how upset was. I later heard there was even another song on the setlist and Ed signaled that they should not play it and they went off. For most people I think it was just an amazing "Black" though, and there was that intense mood the audience gets during that song.

What makes it stand out for you? And tell me, what do others say about it? DO others say it was special? It was clearly very very emotional for the band.

first off, "black" is my fav Pearl Jam song when performed live. i saw the band perform the night before, which totally fuckin' rocked and all the band members seemed to be perfectly happy, especially eddie and mike...

i'd read how emotional it was to see eddie act out his emotions on stage during "black" the second night, not to mention the gut-wrenching performance of the band, so i thought i'd give it a listen at "pearl jam live."

i was blown away by mike's guitar solo at the end, which just fit the mood of the song. it was as if his guitar was crying, "do do do do do."

you can hear the self-frustration in eddie's voice, which resonated with me while i listened to him sing the lyrics of lost love. the song's underlying frustration was indicative of eddie's mood on that night, which resonated with my frustrating day...

Nicely put. That's cool that you can hear so much without having seen it.

It sucked to watch, was really hard. I hope Eddie's feeling better a year later.

... I think the lyrics to "I Am Mine" is a good sign that he is feeling better. That's how I hear it anyway.
