I'm a very happy and excited boy. I bought the new New Order album last night. It's clled 'Get Ready'. I can only assume that the exhortation is to 'Get Ready to Rock' as that's what I was doing.

Those of you who remember New Order and their shining career during the 80's may not get what you expect if you buy this album. While the guys produced such awesome numbers like 'Bizzare Love Triangle' and 'True Faith' while experimenting with drum machines and sequencers, this album takes them back closer to their roots. It's more like a 'Joy Division' album than anything else. In fact, if you had Ian Curtis singing on this album (which would be quite a feat), it could easily be passed off as some lost studio session tapes from the lat 70's. I still like Bernie Sumner's voice though.

Check it out if you get a chance

89 would have been one of their 'Come Back' tours. These guys released their first album as 'Joy Division' in 1979 (the year i started first grade).

They've been a little quiet for a lotta years, but for some reason they have decided to release this little gem....I'm not complaining.

i have also just realised that the oddly familiar voice doing backing vocals on track 3, 'Turn My Way' is Billy Corgan.

hey, Billy Corgan...your old buddy :)

well, I don't know much New Order but I remember selling the lps (and Joy Division as well) back in the 80s when I worked at the ol' record store.

I seen Joy Divisions only live TV appearance last weekend (it was a repeat from around 1980) on the British long running show 'Top of the Pops'.
Jeez, if there was one man who it seemed destined would fall apart it was Ian Curtis...such passion and intensity but then oh so tragic.
