yup, it's true...

as of an hour and 8 minutes ago, i am no longer an employee of St. Joseph Hospital. Why the hell am i not freaking out? I actually told myself i would probably get fired today before i left for work (i was late) (again)... Somehow i can't help but think this is the best thing that could have happened to me- it's one of those cases where I couldn't bring myself to quit a job i was sick of because of bennies so I just created a scenario where someone would have to force me to leave. I've been going through massive changes in the past couple months and this is one thing i was too afraid to change on my own, at least directly. I don't know how many times in the past few months i have said "i should be fired" or "someday they're going to fire me" and i knew it to be true and i didn't care. It was a boring job and frustrating because of a lot of stupid policies i could never change.

So yup.... i got fired for the first time job at the age of 32... don't it make me smile?

I guess i get to see what the unemployment line looks like now : )

well first, the photos have to come from the web, and it depends where on the web you are taking the photos from- some sites have it set up so you can't post their pictures anywhere else. Maybe that is the problem.

Sorry to hear about that...but then again as others has said, another door will soon be open to you. Once I graduate from college I'll be in the same position....early 30's with a new direction to take. But like yourself, I won't miss my current job. Being a janitor was never my life's ambition, but it does ground me and pay the bills. So until I graduate...it will still be time to scrub the toilets. :(

I know what you mean....I've wanted to get fired a couple of times.....I stayed at the bank until the last minute and I am sure if I hadn't resigned, they would have fired me for what I did at the end.

At the end of the day, I'm becoming more and more aware that I don't realy want to work for anyone except myself......

I don't know whether to say "Hey, congrats for being able to move on", or give an "I'm sorry you got fired".
I guess what I am trying to get at here is that when a person no longer feels passion for their job or cares whether or not they might get the axe, it is indeed time for a change. New phase ahead, plenty of jobs to be had, so if/when that unemployment line seems grim and evil, keep your chin up! And in the meantime, keep working on the tan!

But mine are probably a little furtherdown the line .....the central to eastern european celts had the dark hair, green eyes and pale skin.....that's what I got......the blue eyed, dark blonde haired, pales skinned celts seem to be mostly fron the norse / celt, irish celt back ground....

my motto about work is that you have to work to live and not live to work..
work should not make your life miserable... i once walked out of a job and i had nothing to go to.. but the bastards made my life hell.
i'd rather be a happy street sweeper than a miserable millionaire.. thats the truth.

Listen--you're better off. I have no doubt about that. I was in a dead-end, major sucky spot job-wise about 6 months ago, and I got out. Couldn't take it anymore and left without a tight grasp on the next job (I'd interviewed, but hadn't landed one yet). Had a new job (this one) within the week. phew! (cause it was right around X-mas). Not that I'm not still at a dead-endish kinda job, but it's a FAR CRY and huge step above from where the hell I'd been. Anyhoo--enjoy your time off and your down time. Re-group, strategize & you will faretheewell!! Congrats!!! And so close to Independence Day too! Woo-hoo!
