Okay everybody here's the final run-down on what's going on with the Charity.
Remember all sales are final, no exchanges or exceptions.Ha!
First off I'd like send out huge love to everyone for all their ideas, suggestions and what not! Thank you for wanting to do something amazing on our Jammer week-end in addition to listening to some kick-ass music, celebrating an amazing band, making some new friends and exploring the great city of Seattle!!! YOU ROCK!
So, here's the run-down
We're donating toys to Children's hospital on Saturday July 28th. There are is going to be a mass pearl jammy shopping trip for any and everyone who wants to buy the "wishlist" toys together in Seattle. If some people want to buy their toys before this weekend that's cool too! Just remember that we will be delivering the toys to the hospital later that afternoon so make sure I have them beforehand. This also leads me to another point....
ANYONE NOT COMING TO SEATTLE BUT STILL WANTING TO DONATE:
I am going to attach the list on this post again. If you want you can mail your toys to me. Email me and I'll give you my home address ecojedi@yahoo.com . CUT-OFF for mail-in toys: JULY 26th. Please do not to send them past this date. PLEASE!
Which brings me to the next step...the actual drop off.
I think everyone knows why we are doing this. There are some really sick kids who could really use some smiles. For health reasons we ALL can't go to the hospital. Although, it would be really cool to "converge" on the hospital , we just can't do it. So, only 4 of us can go. Actually, the drop-off is not THAT big of a deal. It's pretty much a drive-by to the hospitals donation office. I will be going cuz I'm the organizer and have the wheels. So, there leaves 3 other spots.....SO WHO WANTS TO GO?
A contest has been mentioned for interested parties. I think this is a pretty good idea.
Ardy made a great suggestion and I think I'm going with it...
Here's the deal:If you want to the drop-off with me.......The 3 people who have traveled the farthest for the convergence get to go. So, if you're interested let me know ecojedi@yahoo.com. Give me your name and where you're coming from, I'll announce the winners on Monday July 23rd.
Also, several really great ideas have been brought forth in addition to donating toys. You know who you are! :) Here's the deal: I spoke to the coordinator at Children's today and mentioned all the ideas that I've received or read. The ONLY thing we can do other than donating toys is a card.
The CARD RULES: Pretty Much all we can do is sign our names. We cannot mention get-well, have a great day, feel better, ect. Honestly, most of these kids are not going to get better. I love the idea of a big card that we all can sign our names to. Maybe Friday night/Saturday we can make/sign a big card. I'm leaving this up to you guys to decide. We are very limited on what we can say besides our names. The card will be posted in the playroom by one of the children's volunteers.
Okay, I think that's it for now. Anything new or changes I'll let you know about!
Thanks everybody!
Suz
