even if i only get one response from this, it's worth it!
for fun i like to go to shows and take pictures..usually just for one song though so i don't miss the music. i have an opportunity to get critical advice from someone who's been doing this for 30 years but can only take one picture..which will then be submitted into a competition (i'm not that bothered about prizes though). i just want my picture to grab this guys attention so he talks to me!
here's a link to 14 of my pics....took me ages to scale them down. i've included one of ed...but i know its not the best one i've ever taken.
i'm by NO means a pro photographer - i know they are not that great..have never studied it..i just do it for fun.
if you can spare a minute of your time, please let me know which one you liked the most...i'm asking anyone who cares to look!

They're too small. Is there any way we could see them bigger?

wow, those are great blue rain, what kinda camera are you using? i liked 7 and 10 the best :)
my chrome is shinin just like an icicle, i ride around town on my lowrider bicycle
2 is great.
14 is cool because of the motion blur and the fact that it matches the color of that paneling behind the guy. rad.

thanks :)
mtgirl..i use a canon EOS 300 with a sigma zoom lens..and a digital one but i use really really cheap ones all the time. i have 6 cameras..and i love my poloroid the best. i think its more to do with lighting than anything.
hund...yeh, i was at stockholm (amazing!)..the camera i used for that pic wasn't that great because i was in the pit and i didn't want to break it! it was eddie doing his solo bit..what a night/day!!
thanks for all your responses :)

I am gonna be the oddball out this afternoon and say that #8 is the best. And here is my reason why: She is the only woman you have selected for your series. Obvioulsy something abotu her 'jumped out' at you and you thought it was worthy of being in the last few. But look at the image in a different light. This woman stands here with a cig hanging from her lip, a guitar strapped around her, this phallic and male dominated instrument for years..she holds the power in HER hands now. She is grabbing hold of it and making it her own and playing and representing something that men aren't in the other pictures...she is representing women's advancements in rock. And the cig just enhances this feeling with the whole theory of smoking after good sex. Do you see what I'm saying??? Do you see what I'm seeing? Maybe my Women's Studies trained eye is seeing something that you all don't see. I defintely think that #8 is the best. ALthough Ed does look like such a cutie in the other ones/images/smile.gif

WoW
those are some reallllllllly good pictures!!
I haven't really narrowed it down much...except tho of course I love him the most, I'd leave out the pic of ed-
just because the others have such great action going on....
I love taking pictures too...I have a few cameras, no digital camera yet, but a polaroid, an old all manual pentax...
and a new all automatic pentax for quick shots...among others... but I have so many pictures...I treasure them :)
so, back to your question..any of them would be great to show to the picture guy :)

I'd go with # 14. # 2 is cool, but when you enlarge it it isn't sharp enough...same with the Ed pic. In 14, you have nice crisp lines, with the movement thing happening.....
very nice blue!/images/laugh.gif/images/laugh.gif/images/laugh.gif

For me it's 10 first. I like the different directions of the light and the hues in the background. The guitar player looks so isolated and intense in that one.
2 Is my second choice because of the intensity and the light again.....Iggy (It looks like him) looks so raw and intense.

I'm going to go with 2. That's the lead singer of Cyclefly, isn't it? It looks like him, anyway. I think that's the best one. Followed by 10. 14 is cool, but I wouldn't go with it myself.
