Happy (b-lated) St. Patty's! Did any of you guys do anything?

My guy and I went down to 6th street to see all the crazy folks in their green. Mitch (my guy) made a variety of buttons at work that we handed out to people. I still have a few left I'm saving for myself for next year. It's important to have 'pieces of flare.' Then, at the end of our evening (which was early since he had a job interview and I had an early day the next day) we walked back to my car parked in some tucked away parking by the capital building. Along the way, we passed Spike Lee. Well, it is SXSW, so I'm surprised that's all I saw. I've been told quite of few 'somebodies' will be in town over the next few weeks, though I admit that I haven't been keeping track. All I know is I missed yoga saturday because of the insane amount of traffic coming into town. I digress....

Next year, I think I'll take the day after St. Patty's off so I can do a bit more. Maybe I'll even have a gathering at my house. We didn't even drink anything other than a couple of Sprites. Booooorrrring. lol Oh well.... it was still fun, though fairly uneventful. :alien::oldman:

Oh.... hello. :)

Hi Mel!

I worked on St. Patty's Day. Even though I'm Irish, it doesn't really hold any significance to me other than it being my Mom's original due date for my arrival. Maybe if I were a drinker/partier type (even on a small scale). *shrug* Oh, well.

I'm not much for drinking either but, I usually have a green-colored smirnoff on St. Pattys. I think I mostly like wearing green and being around people enjoying themselves. Also, I'm a hodge-podge of nationalities, but Irish is the only significant one I know for sure, so maybe that's part of it. The original story behind it and all of that is interesting, but not why I celebrate the holiday. To me its kinda like a celebration of spring more than anything else. :)
