k, so first of all - happy birthday javy and dominic...funny serena and roberta's bdays are the same day....dominic and javy's are not far apart. :alien:

so, i am on my way to florida. disney. my kid's (the eldest) cheerleading team got their paid bid to the cheerleading worlds. its like the olympics for cheerleading. i am so excited, proud, nervous and all that stuff. they compete saturday around 2ish and there are 85 amazing teams in their division. after saturday, they split that group in half to go to finals on sunday. i reallyreallyreally hope that they make it to finals - they have the talent and the routine, but anything can happen and it comes down to .10s of points to seperate an awesome team from another awesome team.

after all the crap we went thru last year with cheerleading, it is amazing that liv has reached so many of her goals and has truly become an athlete, not just a cheerleader. its pretty cool to see.

the competition is webcasted on iasfworlds.org and will be on espn in two weeks if anyone is inersted.

so, yeah, im doin a proud mommy moment.

so, i will be back tuesday afternoon. after all of this focus on my kids, i reallyreally need these pearljam concerts and some me (and me friends!) time!

How'd it go? I sometimes catch cheer events on TV, but didn't see anything this year. Good for Liv and her squad to make it to the "Olympics". :)

Edit: I forgot about the Tuesday thing. Oopsie.

hey! i just woke up after a two daylong sleep.

so, the kids kicked ass and came in 15th out of 56 teams. they had a stunt come down saturday but still made the cut to compete with the top 30 on sunday. then, they had another stunt come down and a tumbling bust on sunday and still came in 15th, which was amazing considering the teams they were up against. they had the skills and routine to get in the top ten, but nerves and whatnot got in the way. i am so proud of my kid and we had a blast in disney!!

i have to say that there is this one team, top gun, who is out of miami. they are freaking cheer gods. seriously. liv, her friends and i stayed to watch the division with the larger teams. well, this team came out to a standing ovation, with everyone on their feet...it was like pearljam had entered the building. non stop cheering for five full minutes. then their routine.... un believable. its amazing what these kids can do with their bodies.

if liv was awake, she would faint. f a i n t. they are such a large gym, they should have a pro shop on site. i will call them and see if they have anything left over...the kids at worlds all trade shirts, but liv was waaaaay too shy to ask any of those kids to trade, lol!
