It smelled so bad it should have gotten lost.
The viewers should have played a game of hide and go seek with it and
not found it. on purpose.
I would have left it unclaimed in the lost & found dept.
it wasn't a nice guy so it finished lost.

I was sort of annoyed that they showed the boat people in the ads but they weren't in the episode.

Other than that, I was happy with it. I like the flash forwards and I always enjoy a Hurley episode.

Plus there's nothing better on...

I liked it, I thought more would be happening though since it was such a LONG FRIGGEN' HIATUS!
It'll be interesting to see where the show goes now....
like, what's up with these people from the boat?
why does Hurley feel like they need to go back to the island, Jack doesn't at first but he obviously changes his mind after he starts losing it in that last season episode...
why do they need to go back
and who are the Oceanic 6?
We know it's Jack, Hurley and Kate.
Who are the other 3 that got off and why was it only 6 out of everyone?
What the hell happened to everyone else?

i think whoever was in the coffin that jack visited at the end of last seasons flash forward was a major component to them being able to get back (michael perhaps? the funeral home was in an urban community and we know that he got off the island, perhaps in a different manner than the oceanic 6 might). jack wanted to get back so bad, for whatever reason (perhaps to rescue the others that they left behind and cannot talk about), and when whoever was in the casket died he really thought there would be no other way to get back to the island and was about to kill himself instead.

i also think that that point in the time line - the future with jack telling kate that they had to go back pre coffin visit - is really just the middle of the story... we'll see how the oceanic 6 get off the island, we see what happens when they do, we see them wanting to go back and trying (which is where the most future flash forward we have seen so far is currently) and we will then see what happens when/if they are able to go back, and then what happens after and how it all "concludes".

from here on out its going to be confusing to 1) determine if the flashes are past or future and 2) at what point in the future they are since the future is completely wide open. back flashes are easy, you can assume they are pre plane crash. but future flashes could be at any point that we have yet to see, and could involve characters we have not even been introduced to yet... and just wait for the mind fuck when one of the flashes takes place on the island so we don't know at what point of the story it is at all....

I heard an interesting theory on the radio this morning. One of the new characters, the anthropologist chick that jumped from the chopper, name is Charlotte Staples Lewis. C. S. Lewis wrote Chronicles of Narnia which is about traveling between dimensions. Interesting connection, I think!

good one! there are lots of literary and philosophy references on the show... the books that were in the hatch, the specific books sawyer was always reading (i remember Carrie, Watership Down, Of Mice and Men, The Third Policeman as some of them), characters named John Lock and others i'm forgetting.

this is what I was thinking about the boat people.

I'm thinking that these are Dharma Initiative people.


You know how the anthropologist chick found the polar bear and the Dharma collar was with the bones, she was extremely happy.
then you've got the physicist, the medium, the pilot that was supposed to fly Oceanic 315...don't know where the medium or pilot fits into the theory but perhaps the pilot was Dharma, and somehow they knew in advance the flight would crash which would have enabled them to find the island again....

They needed to find the island again because they LOST it when Ferety-Ben killed all of the Dharma people with gas and took the island over.

They've been trying to find the island, found it when the hatch imploded and the magnetic whatever started to happen, it was like a forcefield was lifted for a brief moment...
remember when some dudes in the arctic said , there it is?


Last night the young oriental dude/medium held up the pic of Ferety-Ben and said they were there for him, the Dharma people are pissed off.

I also think, that since the oriental dude is a medium, somehow he knows that Ferety-Ben killed his dad and he wants revenge.
Who could his Dad be you ask?
I'm thinking, it's most likely the oriental man in the old Dharma tapes explaining the procedures and initiatives.

anyone else notice the reflection in the water when they show a promo and then the words LOST over the picture of the island???

the reflection is upside down and what should be upside down LOST is a cityscape...buildings...i'm sure it's online somewhere.
