Kid Rock's new album....he FINALLY does a southern rock/bluesy/rock album and it KICKS ASS

I know most of you hate him, but this album is awesome....really. I've listened to it about three times....very loudly...while driving back to Seattle from Utah and it is the first album in a very, very long time that I absolutely love and that gets better with each listen.

Give it a shot.

yay ardy....I LOVE Kid Rock too and receive all sorts of crap for it. The guy is very talented. He just needs to stick with his roots...southern rock/blues/honky tonk.

You will LOVE this album....go but it now...seriously.

it's definitely on my list to get... until then, 'cocky' is a super fave of mine.

he gets a lot of shit cuz he's sort of trashy and, well, for lack of a better word, cocky. i like him because he doesn't take himself too seriously, he fucks up and makes no apologies, i know he's no angel or saint, but he's a good guy. he quitely donated somewhere around $20,000 to a local skate/sprinkler park in a suburb near where he lives here. it was a memorial park for a 20something girl who died. she was a camp counselor for kids. anyways, he did this quietly, no fanfare, no cameras, etc. i read/heard somewhere he goes to his son's parent-teacher conferences with no security, just him, being a dad. sure he's got his quirks/probs, doesn't everyone?? but i think he's really just a decent dude.

all this aside, i totally dig his music, too.
it's raw and loud and kicks ass.
every once in a while, we need something raw, loud and ass kickable.

I love cocky too. I love that he is trashy. That is who he is and he makes no apologies for it. How can you not love that? He is honest, blunt, brutal...and human. Again, how can you not love that? I am so glad to see him strip it down and get back to basics. I know he grew up on southern rock and old country/honky tonk. He has always done that better than the rock/rap, in my opinion.

yeah, honest, blunt, and brutal is okay...if you're a rock star...but, not if you're me...

that aside...i like this southern side...
