Bugger....
The ground has sort of been shaking here in old Tokyo town this morning.....we usually get at least one tremor a day, but these have been bigger than normal...
hmmmmmm........
I am currently working in the offices of Deutsche Bank, on the trading floor as a matter of fact. They are my former employer and now my biggest client....go figure, huh.....
Anyway, they have an earthquake drill that they run every week. It's a whole heap of messages in Japanese but then the freakiest thing. There is this part where they actually simulate the sounds of an earthquake in the drill....there is this big rumble....then screams....and then things crashing and falling down and more screams.
this goes on for about 10 minutes. None of the japanese people seem to notice, but all of us westerners look at each other very uneasily before laughing a little wannly and then returning to work......
Something to think about I suppose. As a young boy growing up in a farming town in Queensland, I never thought I would have to worry about earthquakes.
