pj's purple box thingy looks like 2 hours. the schedule is bullshit. an hour between bands? the most popular bands playing at the same time? (and by popular, i mean the bigger names that a lot of people would want to see).
single day tickets are $80.....
that is a lot considering you would only be able to see about half of the bands you want to see because of the schedule.

I did just see Iggy & the Stooges for the 2nd time a couple of months ago and they rocked the freakin' house down... amazing that he's just turned 60! (I know they're billed both as Iggy & the... and just the Stooges like the new album and the old days)
I haven't seen KOL in a while and the new album is really groovy...
I do think I'm leaning more towards Ben Harper & the IC... so great...
I'm just happy to get to go (as long as work doesn't interfere!)

Most of the schedule looks good to me, but I'll be in a real pickle choosing between Muse and Interpol. Damn, that sucks bomb pops
But it's good to know when to avoid Juliette and the Licks :koed:
Thanks for the info!

Very easy.
I have to check location of stages for a few acts. Looks like we will have an hour to get into place (in front) before PJ goes on, although TV on the radio plays from 7:15 - 8:00. Do you think anyone will hold four spots for us?????

The WHB's are playing on the kidzapalooza stage?? just how wee & hairy
are these beasties???
Perhaps the sippycups are a better choice after all, wouldn't want our
future generation of palooza goers being permantely scarred by the
sight of little people dressed up as miniature versions of chewbacca
rarrghhhging out rock songs.

The must sees for me are: Cold War Kids, Interpol, TV On The Radio and PJ.
Would like to see, but will not cry if I miss: Electric 6, G Love, Ben Harper, Silverchair (that might turn into a must see), Snow Patrol, Amy Winehouse.
I think I'd like to see KOL, but have not seen Iggy & the Stooges, so maybe Carmelle and I can spilt up for that one.
And now that you guys know my schedule, you can message me and set up meetings with me in between bands. Like I'd turn it into a buisness meeting thing. Why? I don't know. Maybe cuz I no longer have business. :)

Not so easy for me. I love both bands!
Is there no love for MUSE around here?
My must sees are: PJ, Ben Harper, Cold War Kids, Patti Smith, Muse, Interpol (somehow I'll make a choice).
I'd like to see:The Fratellis, Pete Yorn, Silversun PIckups, Satellite Party,
Tokyo Police Club, Silverchair, G Love, Kings of Leon.
I'm indifferent about: The Stooges, Modest Mouse, Snow Patrol.
I'll avoid: The Polyphonic Spree, Juliette & the Licks, Amy Winehouse.

Fantasy Lollapalooza!
Day 1.
Hang out at the Kids* Stage until The Sippy Cups finish their set, then catch the rest of Ted Leo and the Pharmacists' set.
Then, The Polyphonic Spree, Electric Six, M.I.A., and since I've already seen BH&tIC, I'd finish off with Daft Punk.
*I refuse to z-ify that word
Day 2.
Tokyo Police Club, Pete Yorn but leave early to support Canuckian Sam Roberts, Motion City Soundtrack, The Roots, Regina Spektor, coin toss between YYY & SP, Patti Smith, stand at the exact middle point between the 2 stages with Muse and Interpol on them, lick my finger, hold it aloft, and go wherever the wind takes me.
Day 3.
Heartless Bastards, ducking out early for Smoosh, ducking out early for Amy Winehouse, School of Rock All-Stars, Iggy, commit suicide rather than decide between !!!, Peter Bjorn & John, & Yo La Tengo, reincarnate in time for Modest Mouse, TV on the Radio, and then call it a night.
*cough*

Thanks Joe and mensane :bigsm: I'll try to add Colour Revolt and Smoosh to my schedule. See, this is the whole problem...so much excellent music in the world and not enough time before I die to hear all of it.
The band I've never heard of today could be my PJ of tomorrow and I might never know!
So what's the scoop with these two acts? Sounds like? (I know.. I hate that question too, but it does help give an idea) Style?
(p.s. rockrighter: I've copied your fantasy itinerary for future use, especially the "finger in the air halfway between Muse and Interpol" tip :silly:

What is a smoosh?? Sounds like the sound a bug makes when
I squish it with my fingers.
now Squish - there is a band name waiting to be discovered.
Squish opening for Smoosh - We can throw Squash at them.
