Has anyone seen this? We saw it at the Cinerama last night and LOVED IT. It was so funny and violent and bloody....it kicked ass....

In case you werent aware....it is 2 separate movies...the first is a zombie movie....the second is about a muscle car driving killer. there are "trailers" for hilarious fake movies before each feature.

It is just over 3 hours long....you definitely get your money's worth.

there's an artist on artist interview with Quentin and Rodriguez on myspace talking about how quentin has movie parties at his house all the time, and he shows double features of old movies along with random trailers, and that's how they got the idea to do Grindhouse.
i wanna go to a quentin movie party!

I hear that the zombie one isn't as good as the other one. They both look like campy old style favorites. I plan on seeing them/it with my son at some point.

bah...they were both good.
see it soon. i guess there was some rumor about either pulling it out of theaters early or splitting them up because of slow ticket sales.

splitting them up? how the hell can they do that? they are MEANT to be seen together....that would be like watching half a movie and then coming back next week for the other half..this isn't tv...geez

I'm thinking of going this weekend once my son is back in town (he's been in Utah this past week spending his spring break with my parents)...he would never forgive me if I went without him considering how much he loves Quentin movies

Yeah, I heard the same thing about splitting them up. They said it made $11 million in its first weekend, and I guess they spent $30 million alone in marketing and promotion for it.

we saw it last weekend... I thought it was great! I did like Quentin's better... he is so good at dialogue and the chase sequences were great... the first one looked really good, but it's such an old story... I heard the same thing about them splitting them up... I guess that's how they're showing in Europe since the release... definitely recommend it!:)

Tarantino's dialogue is a thing of beauty in every film

I can't wait to see this movie

I'm going to see it tomorrow. I couldn't get a chance to see it last week, or I would have definatly gone...I probably wouldn't have helped the box office numbers, but I hope I can kick some money into it during it's second week. I'm a HUGE Tarantino fan, and I love that he just did something so outside of what everyone else is doing now, and made it his own (along with Rodriguiz). I bought the soundtrack yesterday, and that is very cool as well. I'm excited!!!

i am a huge tarantino fan and i LOVE his dialogue, but i have to say he missed the boat in this one... the first film is really a bit better. tarantino's is ok but it takes forever to set up and get to the pointand the dialog just isnt as good a usual.

still good, but not my favorite of his work

FANTASTIC MOVIE!!!

The movie itself is an expreience. The films are all bookended by a series of "grindhouse" trailers for other similar tone movies, by guest directors including Rob Zombie and Eli Roth, which are really funny and do not take themselves seriously. It knows all cheesey parts and exploits them without fail. Both movies are all scratched up and feature "missing reels" jump cuts, 70s style movie raiting announcements, theatre advertisements, and the sounds of a projecter in the background.

I really liked both movies, and didnt' feel that one of them outshined the other. They work perfectly together. They should most definatly NOT be split up. A few of the same people show up in both of them. They both feature great casts and dialogue. A few cool cameos as well. I have to say that after watching them, Rose McGowan deserves to be in A LOT more movies. She did an awesome job. Zoe Bell rules too!!! It's too bad that it's not doing that well in theatres, because I think it's done very well, and if people gave it the least bit of a chance, they would come off being big fans. Even thought it was over 3 hours the whole thing went by very fast, and the filmakers know how to keep up surprises and make it all entertaining. I'm sure this movie will do very well on DVD, and I can't wait to get it. Great filmaking. A good movie to see with a crowd too, to hear all the reactions. One of my favorite movies of the year. An awesomely fun great recommendation!!!
