On the Eve of a GREAT 10 Days...

I'm heading to California tomorrow to volunteer at The Painted Turtle, a camp for kids with Crohn's and colitis. I can't wait for this amazing experience. I lived 16 years before I finally met someone (happened to be Mike McCready) who also lived with Crohn's disease so getting the chance to share stories and see kids laugh and see kids bond over this awful disease will be unmatched. A week of fun, sun, kids and wonderful people. WOW!

Oh yeah, I also get to go to the KROQ Pearl Jam radio show tomorrow at the Henry Fonda Theater before I head to camp. Sort of a little 'bonus'. :) Then AFTER camp I fly to Portland for the CCFA benefit concert feature Pearl Jam and David Cross. :) THEN I gear up for two shows at the Gorge.

I think it's amazing that the kids can look up to you and realize that the future's so bright they gotta wear shades - I'm sure you are going to make a difference in a few lives

chaperoning a kids camp is SO much fun....you'll have a great time.

just think...you will undoubtedly become a 'mike' to a little 'chris'..you have so much to offer and experiences to relate...how fortunate to have the opportunity to share yourself/life with someone who feels like they're the only one and no one understands. you'll be there for that person and that is a great gift.
