because the guys are taking no prisoners this time.
not that they ever do but I thought that line sounded good.

I don't even know where to begin but i am sure by now most
of you if not all have already read the reviews of the 2 shows here
and have a pretty good idea of how they went.

but,
those reviews were not written by me and I am the most
important person you know, other than the band and frinks or maybe
if any of you had relatives or friends there,or a concession worker
you may have bought a beer off of once or if any of you know
Tie Domi then I guess he is more important than me.
ok,so I am not all that important and I suck at writing reviews
of shows because I tend to live in the 3-4 hours I am there and
have a difficult time putting down on computer screen what
I heard, witnessed, was privileged enough to experience in that
time.
but,
I will try and it's 4:30 a.m. here,a scant 5 hours or so since the
30 song set ended so if I start boring you or rambling then just
click the PJnetBBS icon up top and turn me off.

night 1 - rocked

night 2 - rocked even more than night 1

thank you......good night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh and...

enjoy them kids,I know I have only be going to shows since 2000
but they are absolutely having a blast and it is coming through
in spades on stage. They seem so excited to be back on tour
and be able to play the new stuff for us.
don't get out your voodoo dolls of me when I say this but
I was a little underwhelmed when I heard the Africado album,
even though Sharon played it over and over and over and, well
you get the picture. I fell in love with Inside job and didn't mind
severed hand or marker in the sand too much but other than that
I just didn't "get" it. I mean I know Ed's lyrics,for the most part,are
usually soulful,romantic,deep,energetic,etc.,etc.,but I was having
a hard time grasping what he was trying to convey this time, until,
that is,they came out on stage on tuesday night and they started to
play and Ed started to sing and everything just felt right, again, and
I figured out what it is,for me anyway, that I need to make me "get it",
I need the live experience,I need to see the passion, the energy, the
give and take of love like waves of emotional euphoria that they
bring each and every night to the stage.

I could not help thinking that if someone was at one these 2 shows
as their first live Pearl Jam experience, what must they be thinking?
well,as one of the great lyricists once wrote "I don't want to think,
I want to feel"

They have never disappointed me,they have never made me feel
like it's just another show,they are real,they are genuine,they
are great human beings just trying to make a small difference in
the way the rest of the world views things and they do this the
best way they know how, with their voices, with their minds, with
their passions, with their humour, with their ability to take
an arena full of strangers and turn them into friends but most
of all, with their hearts. They truly love each and every one
of the people that come to see them perform and when you
"get" that then you get Pearl Jam.

im tired,i have to go to work in 3 hours.sharon gonna cuss me out because
she is going to have to wake me up and she's on vacation this week.
eh,fuck it. I'll stay up and play games. i can sleep at work.
g'night all. enjoy them when you see them
:)

ok - i'll pick up here

i actually posted a huge review yesterday that timed out - so i got fed up and left

haha

anyway

night one was more for the newer album - which is what i was really hoping for

and they nailed it

there were some techi problems, but that's what night one is for

mike hauled out that big ass double neck guitar surely designed for vishna
for inside job - they worked out a few kinks and i'm DYING to see it live again
because it is just SO BEAUTIFUL - way to go mikey!!

the new stuff is so good live - i can't even tell you, well i am aren't i

i left tuesday's show feeling that something special really happened - it was the most intimate show i've ever been to

the love for the audience both nights was over the top - all of the guys were really interacting and just having a hoot

when does ed go shooting pics into the audience all over the place and talking to people (as opposed to maybe a person)

stone threw swag into the audience and mike came out with a handulf of stuff and handed it out

collectively mike must have chucked 100 pics - (or is it picks - wtf?)

at one point he threw about 20 into the audience in one handful

anyway - the music

2nd night was more classic - some new and lots of old

i don't think anybody really got the cinnamon girl thing (after reading on RM and Synergy)

ed was goofing around and laughing, before they played i got shit he said something about writing this song with neil young

then after he said something like "do you want to hear a secret?? just between you and me, don't tell anybody - this is the real middle of I Got Shit but we took it out for the boot - and then he went into cinnamon girl and cracked up a little)

now i keep reading posts about cinnamon girl being taken off the boot or something

anyway that's the way I heard it!

i left last night with a really uncomfortable feeling after hearing jeff's comments about not coming back and then having ed sing two improvs about toronto - it really felt like a farwell and i wish i could shake the creeping sadness i have right now

i have to go back to night one

the lenny bruce thing

ladies - all i can say is - OIY- and maybe YES (yes, yes, yes - hehe)

if you didn't her about it ed went into the lenny bruce

"didja cum, didjacum was it good"

I couldn't make out some of the spoken word, I have to assume it's from the bit - which is why we were all a bit baffled by it at first because he did switch it up a little

black was beautiful - i missed some of what he was singing at the end because the crowd just got HUGE
i hope somebody caught a picture of ed doing a body surf pose on the speaker as well - it was priceless

and my morning jacket really are amazing - i really really enjoyed their two sets and they were out front after the show - probably wondering what all the "fuss was about" as we were witness to a "hostile security take down" that involved a 1am call from constable somebody to our home last night

anyway that's a whole other story

one negative note - i am so fucking sick of monstorous 6'5" linebacker sized 10C members - the ones who have a slightly better number than me and than me and always end up three deep in front of me and HAVE to pump their fucking tree trunk sized arms up through the ENTIRE show

and maybe take off the 10 gallon baseball cap while you're at it

it's not their fault - it's all genetics and beer but what the fuck is that - it's almost like it's a fanclub requirement

and Dom, I know you're tall but you're normal sized head doesn't block out half the stage like some of the sputnik's that were there last night

geez - i just have to bitch

anyway - it's over - i'm getting the blues already

slight chance we may drive down to pittsburgh - it's our anniversary

and on a crohn's related not over the two nights they raised $2000 for the CCFC and $600 for the northwest chapter of the CCFA

excellent

:)

last time in Toronto was really great, definitely one of the most memorable... I know what you mean about the gorge... it would've been cool if we all could be there, camping together, pjamming together, oh well... next time we really should plan one big get together show!

we'll let you know for sure!!

I forgot to add another thing about stone

he came out and was trying to throw some shirts into the audience but he wasn't getting very far so he tried real hard and it went up going straight up and behind him - like on a blooper show

the whole thing was a treat

So cool to read about your shows, such full setlists between the two nights.
if you decide NOT to go to Pittsburgh.... :P
and decide to come to Philly instead..... :) let me know.
nothing like a show in Pennsyltucky.
