because the guys are taking no prisoners this time.
not that they ever do but I thought that line sounded good.
I don't even know where to begin but i am sure by now most
of you if not all have already read the reviews of the 2 shows here
and have a pretty good idea of how they went.
but,
those reviews were not written by me and I am the most
important person you know, other than the band and frinks or maybe
if any of you had relatives or friends there,or a concession worker
you may have bought a beer off of once or if any of you know
Tie Domi then I guess he is more important than me.
ok,so I am not all that important and I suck at writing reviews
of shows because I tend to live in the 3-4 hours I am there and
have a difficult time putting down on computer screen what
I heard, witnessed, was privileged enough to experience in that
time.
but,
I will try and it's 4:30 a.m. here,a scant 5 hours or so since the
30 song set ended so if I start boring you or rambling then just
click the PJnetBBS icon up top and turn me off.
night 1 - rocked
night 2 - rocked even more than night 1
thank you......good night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh and...
enjoy them kids,I know I have only be going to shows since 2000
but they are absolutely having a blast and it is coming through
in spades on stage. They seem so excited to be back on tour
and be able to play the new stuff for us.
don't get out your voodoo dolls of me when I say this but
I was a little underwhelmed when I heard the Africado album,
even though Sharon played it over and over and over and, well
you get the picture. I fell in love with Inside job and didn't mind
severed hand or marker in the sand too much but other than that
I just didn't "get" it. I mean I know Ed's lyrics,for the most part,are
usually soulful,romantic,deep,energetic,etc.,etc.,but I was having
a hard time grasping what he was trying to convey this time, until,
that is,they came out on stage on tuesday night and they started to
play and Ed started to sing and everything just felt right, again, and
I figured out what it is,for me anyway, that I need to make me "get it",
I need the live experience,I need to see the passion, the energy, the
give and take of love like waves of emotional euphoria that they
bring each and every night to the stage.
I could not help thinking that if someone was at one these 2 shows
as their first live Pearl Jam experience, what must they be thinking?
well,as one of the great lyricists once wrote "I don't want to think,
I want to feel"
They have never disappointed me,they have never made me feel
like it's just another show,they are real,they are genuine,they
are great human beings just trying to make a small difference in
the way the rest of the world views things and they do this the
best way they know how, with their voices, with their minds, with
their passions, with their humour, with their ability to take
an arena full of strangers and turn them into friends but most
of all, with their hearts. They truly love each and every one
of the people that come to see them perform and when you
"get" that then you get Pearl Jam.
im tired,i have to go to work in 3 hours.sharon gonna cuss me out because
she is going to have to wake me up and she's on vacation this week.
eh,fuck it. I'll stay up and play games. i can sleep at work.
g'night all. enjoy them when you see them
:)
