in the last coupla days, there's been two posts...a "last post" and a "goodbye" post. both of these are people 'reaching out' for someone, anyone...for whatever reason, they feel the need to contact *us* with their plight, which is a good thing, however, have we missed the message??

i responded to rhuarc's posting about it being his last and him leaving here and CJWM..maybe i was too intolerant, maybe i was short with him about his post, i only wanted to let him know that by announcing your intentions like that only open you up for comments and insinuations questioning your point.
if it's a cry for help or a need to vent, go for it...we're all friends here, we come from all walks of life, all ages, been there, done that...don't be shy, ASK, we're LOTS of EARS...i bet you you'll get the answers you need, the help you want if you ASK...

then, this morning, ishy posts a "goodbye"... which brings back all the sadness and fear of m'lady 13's 'i love you all' posting a while back. i don't know what to say to ish to make him feel that, while he has every right to bid us adieu, i have a sinking feeling there's more to it, why would he just say "goodbye" with nothing else? i truly hope he took up the offers of IMs and PMs requested..i hope he talked it out, or just listened, or maybe got a good night's sleep and he feels renewed this morning...no 'goodbyes' only 'hellos'....no 'last post'....only 'i'll be back in a few' ....

ok, what is MY point? good question...this is an excellent forum for those in need, those who need a shoulder, an outlet...this is the life preserver thrown at you when you're sinking....we are a great group of people, we need to celebrate that...to ishy and rhuarc and anyone else thinking they got no one who cares, no one who would miss them....you are wrong...maybe i'm speaking out of my 'arse'...but it's how i feel and i want everyone here, there, everywhere in this community to know this...

you may say i'm a dreamer..but i'm not the only one...

I know, it's not the most productive thought or the most fair, but it always seems that we see these kinds of posts after someone else has acted super insensitive. As to the racial stuff, I don't think I was here to read that stuff. And I'm glad. I don't like that shit, and stay out of it. The sexest stuff as well, I know where a line is drawn. And I won't cross it.

People know me from the pics of the day (yes I know, I should do them /images/tongue.gif) and some know me a little better than others, some don't know me at all. We all share one thing in common though, and that is what is so great. Shit can sure get ugly at times, scary, lonely, wordy, turdy, poopy doopy, and sucky. I've been in times where I wanted to leave, and have left, thinking I was never going to come back, but I do, and kinda grow. I don't know if I am making any sense.....

I hear you on that one Immortal. The "Life Questions" got really stale after the first one was pretty much recycled and made into about 18 more installments. I mean, low forms of humour (if you can call it that) are fine in moderation, but in excess they leave quite a dull impression. I could say "shit", "fuck", "pussy" and "cock" in every post and make fun of Italians, but it really gets old. Very old. Annoyingly old.

hey you know.... just because I respond to the posts of Mr.P, doesn't mean I agree with what he is saying... i pretty much just skim the first part to see what weird thoughts the dude has come up with today then go answer the questions if I feel like it. I rarely even comment on what he has to say. Mr. P has the right to say anything he wants to as long as Sir Smirks is okay with it, don't forget that. If it pisses you off that he gets more responses to them, then that is your issue. If you actually *opened* the post, you would most likely find that a good half of the posts are conversation back and forth between two or more of the posters on that thread.

This is really ridiculous. You thought PJ fans were different? Well, we are. We believe in the freedom of expression and will fight to maintain that, regardless of the message, whether I agree with it or not. It is not fair to categorize Mr.P with the people who threatened "to punch you in the face"... based upon what you have read of his character here on this bulletin board. Mr.P. has shared some really kind words with me in private *gasp* so.... the lesson here? Don't judge a book by it's fucking cover, people. You'd think as Pearl Jam fans you would already understand that.
