for one, I WISH i was still sleeping. Gotta get some energy...gotta get some motivation......work sucks. BLAH!
As to your question- I really love the old stuff, I do, but I love even more the present day Pearl Jam. I just can not deny that they sound so much more cohesive- so singular....as they are truly one unit working together- yet still individuals....i just love the way they have grown and the way I have managed to grow parallel to that growth.........................still, my favorite and in my opinion, the most PROFOUND PJ album.......drum roll please...
YIELD.
TO MY FRIENDS, I'M NOT A DRUNK DRIVER...I'M PRESIDENT ELECT.

That's my favorite album also....at the moment /images/smile.gif...I love their new stuff for the same reasons. They are one when they are on stage, it's like a radio, it's all coming from one place, yet you can't figure out how...it's amazing....the old stuff still gets me really pumped up...their energy was RAW...Improvs everywhere, chanting with the crowd...letting them sing a whole song...oh which reminds me....add highway23 to your hotlist on napster...if you can, and look for the "crowd chant" it's awesome! The whole crowd is just singing Alive :"Oooohh I'm still alive...ohhh i'm still alive" over and over, it's so cool! hehehe

know what i've been doing lately? i dearly love to pop 'ten' on the player, listen to it start to finish, then select a boot at random and listen to that...
it's such THE sound..../images/smile.gif it's like getting letter from an old friend...they're still the same, but they've changed, matured...make sense?

I too wish I was in the land of golden slumbers however I have an appointment with my bitch probation officer this morning and I decided I need to get up and get ready to blow the bitch away. Do you think telling her she doesn't need to be so contemptous would be too confrontational? /images/wink.gif
So.... I'm actually not listening to too much PJ lately... well at least not at home... at work and in the car I've been enjoying the wonders that are the Indy boot.... WOW... I've heard a good number of the highly proclaimed boots (Boston 1, Pittsburgh, Tampa, etc) and this one ranks pretty high in my opinion. Aaaaaanyway.... what I *have* been into are these play lists I have put together with some really kick ass mellow tunes... a combination of DMB (which I am just getting into and falling in love with at a rapid rate) ... Radiohead, Blind Melon, Brad, David Gray, Phish (another band I'm really starting to dig)...Gomez, Cat Stevens, Lifehouse, Unified Theory and of course some of my mellow PJ faves.... I've got a great groove going to "The Day Brings" by Brad right this very mo.... it's good stuff... (thanks again, Yfke /images/smile.gif)
So gather around
and see what the day brings
and see what makes you laugh
and see what makes you sing
and never, nevermind the things that people say
and never go away
you're never going away
who knows where the storm will take us
who knows when the pain will break us
when will all the keys be given
another chance to live in freedom
