Doesn't this picture make you think that Jeff Ament walks into the studio with a bunch of Country Music demos?
"All around me... mountaintops, sheep and trees,
The wind against my cheek, the hay up to my knees...
Take me home, country roads...to the place, I belong...
'Ol Missoula....Montana....Take me home...country roads"

I wasn't knocking Jeff Ament. The picture just struck me as odd when I think back to the contrast of seeing him in concert wearing that goat hat thing.
I think it was the camo hat and the dog that looks like it's gearing up to scare up game that hit me.

I spent a year at WVU...and I can confirm that. I remember that song being played at least twice in every bar I went to in downtown Morgantown, and every patron would join in singing along. Not to mention the sing-alongs at the football games. I've never seen a more insane atmosphere than when I'd go to the WVU football games....and that includes the few PJ concerts I've been to.
There's a lot of stereotypes that get pinned on the West Virginia population, but they are the most hospitable folk I've ever come across. We'd wander around in the parking lot before the games and in-state people would invite you over to their tailgate party like they had known you forever.
I also went on an organized trip with the church I used to work at to help the poor people in the Appalachia area. We'd help out carpenters fix up homes that were in desperate need of repair. Good stuff.
