Whoa... I was listening to that song yesterday, too... I only have one Mamas and Papas song in my music collection... Just coincidental that I was listening to it yesterday. Especially because it's on this tape that I never listen to... I thought i lost it anyway but I found it last week and have listened to it a few times in the past week... Fuck... now that I think about it... Well I made the tape from someone else's cd collection, and I think every song on there is from either a) a dead rock star or b) a band with at least one dead member... Let's see...
Okay I'm thinking out loud... don't mind me... but it's got: The Beatles, the Mamas and Papas, the Doors, Jimi, Led Zeppelin, Janis, Pink Floyd, and... well the only band I'm not sure about is the Byrds... are they all still alive? I don't know anything about the Byrds. Except they sing "turn, turn, turn." Geez that's pretty depressing, tho, that I have a tape full of gone young rock stars.

Is John Phillips the father of like Bijou, Mackenzie, and the Phillips' of Wilson Phillips?

Don't mind me if you think i'm being insensitive. I can't "deal" with death these days.

how's it going, mi amigo???
yes, john phillips was mackenzie/bijou/chynna's dad....
he also helped organize 1967's seminal Monterey Pop Festival, which introduced Jimi Hendrix and The Who to American audiences.....(i pulled that off the press release..)
