Our boy arrived home from Hershey Medical Center Friday evening, with an entourage waiting for him in the driveway. His dad called us to let us know they were almost home.
I've never seen that boy more humbled, smiling, and happy than I did Friday evening. He had his clam-shell brace on and scrubs, and has lost 20 pounds in 8 days. but he stayed outside with the boys for a good hour just laughing, talking, and catching up on everything.
His mom came over to me, gave me a giant mama-bear hug and just held me while we both cried....happy tears, fearful tears, amazed tears.
None of us can believe he's home, the doc and the physical therapy team said he is amazing. He is a determined young man.
I told her about all of you thinking positive thoughts for her family. She is very grateful. I'll print everything up later in the week after they have settled back in.
wow, what a ride for this family......

Isn't it great Dom? She and I must have teared up 5 or 6 times Friday sitting in their living room. Every time she would tell me about another hurdle he had to clear in the hospital she would well up and not be able to talk, and if someone is doing that it's an automatic reaction for me to do the same.
Lots of crying, lots of smiling.
good stuff..... :glass:

That is wonderful news! I'm very happy to hear that he is home with his family and doing much better. :) Kids are the greatest when it comes to facing fear and coming out stronger in the end.
