found my car full of about three inches of rain and broken glass this morning
this is the fifth time this has happened to me
i'm really upset
this time they stole a dog blanket
gee, that seems worth the $200 its costing me to have the window replaced
and the $30 I'll have to pay to have the upholstery cleaned since of course it poured rain all night and the seats are soaked
dammit you guys
i'm so discouraged

comprehensive insurance should cover that.

Jami, I am so sorry. That sucks!

Seems like everyone I know here has had their car broken into or stolen multiple times. My neighborhood is really nice too and there are always break-ins or thefts (my car was stolen on Christmas-but I got it back two weeks later). The police officer that came was like, "Seattle is the car theft capital of the world." As if he was proud or something. Grrrr!!!!

Damn petty theft. It's so violating!

I hope the rest of your day is better...

there is no deductible on comprehensive...that sort of thing doesn't fall under collision.

I live in La Jolla, CA which is one of the nicer places to live probably in the country. My car, also a Honda Civic, has been broken into 3 times in the past 2 years. Broken windows, stolen stereos, you name it. Eventually I realized that this was going to continue to happen until i got an alarm installed, so maybe you might want to think about that if you don't have one already. The cost of doing so will eventually be worth it in the end. I know how you feel, and it absolutely SUCKS.

maybe its the same people who have broken in it before...they thought you would have something cool in there instead of a dog blanket.

the alarm sounds like a good idea, jams. there was one i heard...if you touch the car, a voice comes on and says 'please, back away from the car' and the lights flicker.

considering how many times this has happened to ya, an alarm system might be worth it.

I would get an alarm voice that is a little less kind

something like

"alright you motherfucking deuschbag, get your filthy stinking
monkey paws off of my car before I come out there and kick your
cowardly criminal ass all the way to jail where you will become
the hoosegow hosebag for a bunch of sex starved foam frothing
illiterates who haven't seen a naked body for years, let alone
touched one"

but I guess you could add please afterwards.

That's your answer right there. Most stolen/broken into car in BC, probably in a lot of other places as well.

Im very sorry to hear about this Jami. I agree with Cathy, definetly look into getting an alarm system for your car. I know this theft example isn't a car one, but my grandpa was robbed in broad daylight once when he was home, and a few weeks later they struck again while he and my uncle were out. Once a thief knows they can get in once, they will probably strike again.

Look into an alarm soon if you can. Just looking out for a good friend!

sorry to hear about that jami.
there's a special place in Hell
for people who do stuff like this.....

we had ex-employees terrorize us (and another supervisor for the store) for about 3 months about 15 years ago. breaking our car windows, slashing our tires, shooting at our houses with a pellet gun. the police could do nothing until they caught the guy(s) in the act....which finally happened but it took the other supervisor sitting in the bushes across the street from his house with a night vision lens on a video camera filming everything while they shot out his car windows for the fourth time. the judge made them pay restitution and such but i know that someday, somewhere, someone will do the same to them and then they'll know how we felt.
