dudes, i am whigging out. i just made an appointment to go get an hiv screening, just to be *sure* i'm not going to be endangering others. anyway, i am so fucking needle phobic. i've never had my blood drawn or an i.v. or anything and i'm freaked out cause i totally go into retard mode when i have to confront needles. arrr!!!! plus i know the nurse is going to be like talky talky about why i'm getting the test and how i need to be careful when i have sex and like shut up lady i had health for like 5 years straight in high school and i know my fucking biology and what not so just leave me alone! ok done venting now.

no need to whig out....it only hurts for a second...I've have to take three shots a day for the past 30 years....and I have to poke my fingertips at least 4 times a day....what's weird is now I can squeeze my fingertips at any givin time of the day and, make blood come out....little kids think it's cool but, adults freak out big time...hehe

I'm like Vitolochica... two tattoos... But damn they hurt... I dont' know how they got there, really... I want a couple more but i do fear the needle... (Do I fear the space needle, too? re: dream I had the other nite...) can't understand how I got over that fear before... Bleh... I dunno. I guess shots are never as bad as I think they're gonna be? Or maybe I'm just saying that? No, you just really do ha ve to look away. I konw! Maybe listen to some Pearl Jam while yr being "poked..." Or that could be bad, that could condition a negative response to PJ... like a clockwork orange. But he got over that eventually, didn't he? Yeah, well you know, really you can extinguish conditioned responses. So it's not a big huge worry. If you suddenly have a horrible response to PJ becaue of my advice, contact me and I'll try to help you extinguish it, really. I'm a psych major. /images/smile.gif

Hey girlfriend- I just went to the lab last week for the very same reason- just wanted to know for sure, you know? It's the responsible thing to do. (Not the mention I don't trust my ex fer shit.) AAAAAAnyway- guess what? I survived. And don't worry about them telling you about the need to have safe sex. You'll probably have to go to a lab for the blood draw, and they can't say shit to you. Of course *I* had to use it as an opportunity to diss my ex with a perfect stranger, but that's just me /images/wink.gif

You can do it. And if they need to get orderlies to hold you down ala Phil, you can always request the cutest ones :)
