i use it to track blogs from within firefox. i did use feedreader to track news for a while but the volume of material became overwhelming.

i did that too, and it had the same stories coming up as new all the time....i chucked it for that reason....i bookmarked the sites i used it for, and now just check there....not a big deal
just don't see what the big fuss about it is.
