It's not an awesome story.
So I have a 1 credit periodontology class and after the midterm a couple months ago we got a new professor. He told us the second day he taught that he would try something different this year and have us submit questions that would appear on the final. Our class president divided the class into groups and each group submitted 12 questions, 6 of which would show up on the final. Basically, we could just study this battery of questions and not have to read the book or the tedious handouts. This was the big implication. Well the course DIRECTOR made an appearance after 6.6 weeks and informed us that our professor never told him about this "arrangement" regarding the final and that he would not allow it to happen. He announced he would write the exam himself and not use a single question we submitted. So that left most of us with 3 days to study material that cannot be studied in three days. The course director announced his decision via email friday night. The test is on tuesday and I have been working on it all day. I barely made a dent. I understand the course director's point and I would have willingly studied the material in advance had he told us sooner. No one had any idea that our current professor didn't run the plan by the course director. In summation, fuck.

The students should not be penalized due to the error of the professor. It's not yours and your classmates' responsibility to make sure they're doing things by the book.

Class revolt. You need more prep time. This is grossly unfair.

although it will teach you to think on your feet. at some point in your practice, you may only have 3 days in order to figure something out that will dramatically alter a patient's life.

good luck, ommmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. you can do it. yer a smarty ;)

Ouch, Om, that sucks ass. You guys really should revolt like Reena said, but if your school is as anal as mine was (probably even more so seeing as to how it's dental school), they really don't give two shits about you guys having no time to study. I bet they revel in it. I remember in undergrad we had only a weekend to study for 4 exams in 4 days, and that was just undergrad, not a professional program.

This kind of bullshit schooling we can all do without.

Best of luck though.
