"he" being nader...
and how he felt about not having
the support of those celebs who
were behind him last time...
"...Meanwhile, Nader complained during yesterday's speech about the recent defections of dozens of his famous supporters, including Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder, actress Susan Sarandon and her actor partner, Tim Robbins, ice cream magnate Ben Cohen, and authors Studs Terkel and Noam Chomsky.
He mocked the former supporters for issuing a statement a few weeks ago in which they urged voters in swing states to support Kerry, but he said that they "strongly disagree with Kerry's policies on Iraq and other issues."
this was excerpted from this (http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/local/194638_nader11.html) article, if you'd like the whole story...

Poor nader. Damn those former supporters for choosing what they feel is best for the country over what's best for Ralphie. *tear*
Frankly, it seems to me that all/most who supported Nader to begin with realized that that support got Bush elected and don't want that to happen again. Seems to me that they still stick with the idea of picking the lesser of two evils, although its my opinion that Kerry is a better option than Gore by a long shot (maybe that is another reason for the move away from Nader)
But, you do bring a good point. Part of me did wonder how he felt about that. And now I'm not terribly surprised.
By the way, I'll admit it... I'm voting for Kerry.

nader should face reality.
voters aren't supporting him like they were in the past because this is not the time to make a statement.
his votes will take away from kerry's and he should be a big man and step aside (yeah, like that would happen)
and acknowledge that the worst thing for everyone would be if bush was elected again.

the votes he got in florida wouldn't have gotten gore elected - it is ALWAYS time to make a statement -

actually, if the votes were counted correctly gore would've won florida.
also, you gotta time your statements for maximum impact :P

ralph nader is un-electable. it doesn't matter how many *alternative* votes he gets.
what ralph needs to do is, instead of running for president to prove some point (which isn't to be elected), is to mold a young, VIABLE candidate that actually CAN be elected.
ralph is a great man...he has done so much for this country. i admire him. but if he really wants to bring his point of view to the office of the president then he needs to step back and educate someone who can actually do the job (it's hard work, you know, being president ;) :P )

under gore's proposed recount - BUSH WON! and, i would say that every 4 years is timed pretty well since that's when it matters and that's when people care.

not only did Bush win that dominic, he won in every single independant vote count done by numerous newspapers, but don't mention that too much to liberals, it makes them stop spouting their nonsense for a second or two, and no one wants that:rolleyes:
