I have always stated that footsteps is the best PJ song. If you all haven't checked out the 99 bridge school footsteps then you're missin out. It's the only PJ song covered by another band and i believe the only original PJ song that has never been done in the studio.

Love footsteps.
BTW, pp,michael stipe and natalie merchant covered "the long road" at one of the Tibetan Freedom Concerts.
I can only be as good as you'll let me.
Who covered Footsteps?
But it isn't the only PJ song covered by another band... Michael Stipe
(once or twice with Natalie Merchant) likes to cover Long Road. And of course, Ben Harper has done Indifference, although maybe that was just WITH Pearl Jam... I dunno.

ok...let me clear some of this up...i don't know who covered footsteps but temple of the dog has a song to the same music...times of trouble...i guess mcready gave the tune to eddie and chris cornell and they both wrote lyrics...
and, there is studio version of footsteps...it is an acoustic version with no other instruments, but it is still studio...

well i'm saying that Temple of the Dog 'covered' footsteps but i guess in actuality it's just different lyrics. Still, i think it warrants a half-cover title along with being a cash money song. Long live the Dog.

the footsteps you are referring to on the jeremy b-side is not a studio track. It was done on Rockline(a radio show) and obviously is not even a full band. Stone is the one who wrote the song too.

i am gonna have to give credit to both songs as being originals...neither eddie nor chris knew that the other was writing the lyrics to each song...
but i do agree with you...LONG LIVE THE DOG! /images/smile.gif
