is there anything to do with them once they really dont work very well...
i bet i have at least three of them here just sitting around... is there an environmentally friendly way to dispose of them rather than put them out for the garbage? or is their possibly some salvage type place where they would take them for you to rip out parts or something?
or should i just take them outside and beat on them with a sledge hammer and leave them for the garbage man???

what about old computers too cuz i have one of those too...

See if you could donate them to a high school for their science department (like a see-how-far-we've-come-technology lesson or a take-it-apart-and-see-how-it-worked/gut-it lesson.) I don't know.

I suppose the local government or a conservation/environmental society might have an idea as far as disposing it in a enviro-friendly way is concerned.

Check with your local recylcing center. The one in our area lets you drop off electronic equipment for recycling, computers, stereos, tv's, etc... It's a shame everything is so disposable now, isn't it?
