So, I've been visiting a little sporadically lately - hey, I've got my own crisis - school!
But, I did check in daily up to the point that I knew you were "okay," Sandi.
Since I'm not much of a writer, I thought I'd let us all ponder someone else's wise words. I'm sure some of these will be more significant than others, but I'm thinking that the Jamily's support for you Sandi is like the first one.

*** Faced with what seems like an impossible task, a group of folks will do well to remember the African proverb: When spider webs unite they can tie up a lion.

***When we go out looking for ourselves, it's amazing how we find others.

***From wherever you begin, the higher the climb, the better the view.

These are just a few that I found in a book by Johnetta B.Cole - I saw her on Oprah and she said something that just struck me: There is no such thing as an uneducable child, but there are unteaching teachers. How true is that?!?!?

hey sys! that was really sweet to think of me. I do like the first one, our family here in PJ Cyberland is an excellent example of the theory of strength in numbers. Everyone has been unbelievably awesome to me. I'm having a hard time expressing my gratitude to everyone!!

Hey 13, how can I not think of you? Or, should I say, how can we not think of you? I'm just upset that I wasn't there for ya before - I had no idea what you were going through and I always had the impression that 13=funny, carefree and funny again!
But, I'm here now, so if you ever want to vent or anything, you know who to turn to ;)

Hmm, I've got another book about not letting things overtake your life - gotta look into that one!

I know.... i try to take on too much by myself sometimes. A few people knew I was struggling, but i don't think anyone knew the extent of it. I like to be that funny, carefree gal you all see, it helps hide the pain I guess... and it's easy to be that person here, but it doesn't make the other shit go away, unfortunately.

I know that the pain doesn't go away when you try to hide it under a facade, but I think that it's great to be able to just come here to get away from everything - to post/reply to something outrageously funny, to be with our Jammer friends and read something that can take us all out of our daily mundane, and sometimes angry lives, and share in the glory that is PJ-bonding. I know it's hard when you turn off the computer and you realize you've got to get back into whatever it is that you don't want to deal with, but at least for that brief moment, we are able to be taken to another place, a healthy, happy place, and not have to worry about whatever it is that's bothering us. It's a nice release - not an escape. It's just a way of coping.

My two all-time favourites:

** "Nil carborundum illegitimi" - Latin for "Don't let the bastards grind you down"

** "Living is the best revenge." - Eddie Vedder
