Tomorrow I have to go in and talk to my supervisor, whom I've never met. It's about my 'attendance points'. I have 10. You're only supposed to be allowed 8 before you're canned. Since I haven't been there, they weren't able to issue me my warnings, etc., so right now they can't fire me.
However, since I'll be getting my final written tomorrow, they will probably have leeway to give me the boot. Or so I'm hoping.
If not, then I'll probably have to quit on my own.

Why do I want them to fire me? Since I'm a student, EI would be nice for a little while; my eligibility would be pretty decent. The attendance points system is not actually recognized in Canada - I assume some NAFTA or similar agreement is what allows Solectron/Stream to get away with it. That is why fired people get to apply for EI.

Tomorrow will be an interesting day, for sure.

I've received info that students aren't eligible for EI unless already receiving it before the course starts (which has to be an approved course).

So I guess I'm quitting.

Employment Insurance. My sister-in-law got it after he employer went bankrupt and laid her off (and then screwed her out of severence pay). Granted, she has to go through an evaluation every so often - she's going to school to be a pharmacy tech at the same school I am - and that's got to irritating. I have a hard enough time dealing with the collection of all my receipts as it is.

I'm late. I should be there by now. For today, I am written as a no-call, no-show, so basically, I'm going to go in and tell them I quit before they fire me. :)

Sooooooo I quit. Everything went smoothly.

Ahhh, liberation from the anals of tech support work. No, that's not a typo. I meant anals.

I'll get to express anal glands in my new job, though. Better than expressing the anal crap of Hewlett Crapard to craptomers. Crap crap crap crap.
