Tomorrow I have to go in and talk to my supervisor, whom I've never met. It's about my 'attendance points'. I have 10. You're only supposed to be allowed 8 before you're canned. Since I haven't been there, they weren't able to issue me my warnings, etc., so right now they can't fire me.
However, since I'll be getting my final written tomorrow, they will probably have leeway to give me the boot. Or so I'm hoping.
If not, then I'll probably have to quit on my own.
Why do I want them to fire me? Since I'm a student, EI would be nice for a little while; my eligibility would be pretty decent. The attendance points system is not actually recognized in Canada - I assume some NAFTA or similar agreement is what allows Solectron/Stream to get away with it. That is why fired people get to apply for EI.
Tomorrow will be an interesting day, for sure.
