I went to see A Perfect Circle last night, it was a good show, the crowd really sucked for the first half of the show, Maynard was pissed about all the people up front using flash cameras. He also sat down on his perch in the back of the stage for the first half of the show, commenting(urging) the crowd to actually stand up on the side seats and dance or enjoy themselves, which didnt happen until they played 3 Libras. It was a short set, only played for about an hour and 15 minutes, maybe due to the subdued crowd. They played almost everything off Thirteenth Step...even did a revamped "Nurse Who Loved Me", which is much harder edged than on the record, most of the song is faster and with harder riffs and drum. I definitely have a newfound perspective/love for the live harder version of this song. Ok, the hightlights for me for the show...
-The Noose....definitely my favorite song off Thirteenth step, very powerful live
-Blue....I think Maynard said his personal favorite off the new album
-Pet and The Package.....they were flawless on both of these, Maynard and Billy were both jamming hard on these songs
-Rose....very underrated tune, best lighting effects of the night for this song
-Gravity.....one of my least favorite songs off Thirteenth Step, probably my most favorite song they played live.....blew me away!!!!
-Judith.....last song of the night, with no encore. I would say the one and only song everyone in the audience knew
Ok, I know this was long, but I have seen there are a few APC fans around here, so I thought I would give my Roger and Ebert review!!!:P
I could see them again tonight in Portland, Maine, but I have other plans. But if they come around to anywhere you guys live, chem them out, and hopefully the crowd will be better than the one I was at!!!!
