so, i was up until 1am watching the dvd last night....(i was an hour late to work this morning, too)...and i just cried my eyes out during crown of thorns. the looks on jeff's and stone's faces just killed me. they looked so sad. it seemed as though they decided to play it at the last minute because just before it started, ed ran around telling everyone something....i am assuming letting them know about the change. perhaps it caught them off guard. like maybe they need a few extra moments to prepare to play it. i dont know. i imagine it would be painful.
just my thoughts...

I'm sure that it is hard for them to play. I think that it's probably somethign that fully can't be understood by any one else. I mean, Ed loves the song, and has stated in the past that it's one song that he has always wanted to cover. But I think that they do a great job with it, and they use it as a memory of Andy, and also something to remind them of where they came from...
I haven't seen the looks on their faces, but I'm sure that it does take them some time to probably get ready to play it, and maybe Ed is just more excited about playing it...because it doesn't hit him like it does Jeff and STone...
I want this DVD so bad!!! grrr

i'm not one to cry at shows, and this song in particular has never made me cry...but i cried that night to this one...and to two others also.

i think its cause im so incredibly HAPPY to be there, that all i can do is smile. im pretty emotional and all (im sure you can tell) and its surprising that i have never cried at a concert....well, one time when i was in the audience for a concert of the orchestra i used to work for...they were playing a piece to honor 9/11. that was extremely emotional. now that i think of it, when im at an orchestra concert, i allow myself to relax, close my eyes and totally submerge myself in the music. at a rock concert, im too busy singing along, shakin my boodie and jammin wit my friends that i cant get to the point where i feel anything but totally high.
enough of this rambling....
its all good!
